*7 REASONS WHY EVERY BELIEVER SHOULD PAY THEIR TITHES — PART 7d*

*TWELVE REASONS WHY THINGS ARE TIGHT FOR SOME BELIEVERS PAYING TITHES*

Today, after a long break, we are considering the 6th reason why things are tight for some believers paying tithes.

And that 6th reason is:

*6. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR TITHES OPEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN WHILE THEIR OFFERINGS DETERMINE THE MEASURE OF BLESSING THEY GET THROUGH THOSE WINDOWS*

Some years ago, I learnt a wonderful principle along this line from the Bible through John Avazini that has really changed my life!

Here is the simple, but logical and powerful Biblical principle.

Malachi 3:8-10 KJV
[8] Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In *TITHES AND OFFERINGS.* [9] Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. [10] Bring ye *ALL THE TITHES* into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, *IF I WILL NOT OPEN YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN, and POUR YOU OUT A BLESSING, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.*

In verse 8 of Malachi 3, the Lord said the Israelites were robbing Him in 2 things, namely: tithes and offerings.

In verse 9, He announced the consequence of their action to them — self-inflicted curse (demonic suffering or punishment)!

And very importantly, in verse 10, He commanded them to bring all (100 percent of) their tithes into His storehouse (referring to or symbolic of our local Church today) so that there may be food therein and to test Him if He would not open the windows of heaven and pour a blessing that there would not be room enough to receive it.

Now, let's take a deeper look at verse 10.

Bring ye *ALL THE TITHES* into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, *IF I WILL NOT OPEN YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN, and POUR YOU OUT A BLESSING, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.*

First, God didn't ask them to bring their offerings in this verse 10, even though, he had said in verse 8 that they were robbing Him in both their tithes and offerings.

Rather, He simply told them to bring all their tithes into His storehouse.

Bring ye *ALL THE TITHES* into the storehouse ...

So, why didn't He ask them to bring all their tithes and offerings in this verse 10?

Second, He said bringing all their tithes would make Him open the windows of heaven and pour our a blessing.

... *IF I WILL NOT OPEN YOU THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN, and POUR YOU OUT A BLESSING,* that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

That means that giving their full tithes has the power to open the closed windows of heaven and release a blessing upon them.

But, again, is the Lord saying that full tithes without offerings has such power?

What about their offerings?

Why was it not mentioned in this verse 10?

Third, the tail end of this verse 10 qualifies or describes the type of blessing that the Lord would pour out on them!

... if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, *THAT THERE SHALL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT.*

Glancing through this verse, you may simply read: *"... that there shall not be room enough to receive it."*

Looking at this tail end of verse 10 in the King James Version shows that 7 words are in italics or slanting form.

Actually, those words in italics or slanting form are not in the original Hebrew text. Rather they were added by the translators to make it more sensible or meaningful.

So, those wonderful translators rendered it thus: *"... that there shall not be room enough to receive it."*

But, looking at this tail end of verse 10 in the original Hebrew text reveals a secret.

It captures only these words in bold capital: "... *THAT* there shall *NOT* be room *ENOUGH* to receive it."

Therefore, the expressions: "there shall," "be room" and "to receive it" which are in italics or slanting form are not in the original Hebrew text.

Hence, removing them, we have:

Malachi 3:10 KJV
... if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, *THAT NOT ENOUGH.*

Wow!

Let me explain again.

The translators rendered it as: "... *that* there shall *not* be room *enough* to receive it."

But, they cleverly or scholastically added this on their own: "there shall ... be room ... to receive it."

Removing that, we are left with: *"that ... not ... enough."*

So, verse 10 may be read thus: *Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, THAT NOT ENOUGH* (Malachi 3:10 KJV).

Hence, the revelation is that although giving their full tithes would open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing on them, yet that is not enough!

Yes, it's not enough!

Why?

It's not enough because their offerings were important as well for while their tithes would open the windows of heaven, their offerings would determine the measure of blessing that would be poured out on them through the opened windows of heaven!

In summary, things are tight for some believers who pay their tithes because they don't understand that tithes open the windows while offerings determine the measure of blessing they get.

In other words, they fail to get the desired results because they fail to understand that tithes are not enough.

As a matter of truth, your offerings should be the same amount or even high that your tithes because tithing is just the beginning of our giving!

Some give their tithes and feel they have arrived! Sorry! You are just beginning!

As a student in the university, I caught this revelation. So, if I gave a tithe of N3,000, I could give offering of N3,000 as well.

Let's stop throwing peanuts at God! Give Him your full tithes. But, that's not enough.

Then, give Him quality offering in obedience to His Spirit in you.

Let your tithes and offerings provoke angelic ministry on your behalf.

Your offerings can be same amount as your tithes, or it may be 2, 3, 4 or more times as much as your tithes.

Romans 8:14 KJV
*For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.*

I've learnt a secret that sacrificial offerings in obedience provoke financial blessing or breakthrough!

Sad to say, on the one hand, some believers paying their tithes faithfully but refusing to give quality offerings will experience opened windows of heaven with little or no blessing coming down to them through those opened windows of heaven!

On the other hand, some other believers who do not pay their tithes faithfully or at all, but who keep on giving quality offerings will experience closed windows of heaven with a lot of their blessings hanging in the heavenly realm behind those closed windows!

In Jesus' name, I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto me and the Body of Christ locally and globally, especially ..... [mention the names of specific people whose hearts are hardened towards tithes] THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM and REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM: THE EYES OF OUR UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED on tithes [you may mention other things ....] ; that we may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints ...

The Scripture says, *“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved”* (Rom 10:9).

Also Jesus said, *“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses…”* (Acts 1:8).
And on the day of Pentecost *“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance”* (Acts 2:4).
Therefore, I receive the Holy Spirit by faith right now and I begin to speak in an unknown tongue (unlearned tongue) as He gives me the utterance.
I command every foul spirit [spirit of fear, spirit of unbelief, spirit of doubt, religious spirit, unforgiving spirit…] wanting to hinder me to stop in its evil operation in my life in Jesus’ name.
Thank you God for filling me with your Spirit in Jesus’ name (Amen).
