Salt Of The Earth
by Olawale Ogunsola "5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." Matthew The above is a statement from the Lord of all, Jesus Christ. He brought to the fore one of the great values or uses of salt. This is preservation. Because mankind is from the dust, if he becomes righteous, he becomes salt that can preserve the Earth. So, being righteous. Man is not for only his benefit but for the benefit of others and things. Let me reiterate here that it was the righteousness of Christ's disciples in Antioch that earned them the appellation "Christians" (Acts 11:26). The statement of Jesus Christ was echoed at the point of destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham, in his plea to God on behalf of the great cities, declared, Father Abraham, as a friend of God, knew what God can do. He knew God values a righteous man. He doesn't want any evil to befall him. So if God had seen only ten Righteous men, He would have spared the two great cities. Beloved reader, can a place be spared because of you? Can a set of people who are detained for judgment be set free because of you without "man-know-man"? Is your standing before God qualifies you to be a Righteous man? For your benefit, those of your family, people around you, and society at large be a Righteous man. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
