Pain Revisited

Pain Revisited

Why, Oh Why does it have to be this way?
The pain never leaves. It is just covered up
A pain of panic, terror and abandonment
Why pretend nothing ever happened?
A young child left alone to cope with
emotions that cannot be sorted out
Blaming herself for a situation beyond
her control
Perhaps if she had been better behaved?
Controlled her outbursts? Not taken her
anger out on her sibling or herself
The conditioning reflect of waiting for something
to happen so she can be held accountable is
happening again.
What did she do wrong now?
Is what she is feeling a manifestation of
her own mind? Is she told not to tell
of the brutality? Are frightening tatics
being used to make her appear nervous and
odd, shifting the blame from the perpetrator
to her? Her imagination is being used to keep
her under control.? She is besieged with
evil tales of monsters who will deal with
her if she does not obey.

How do you gain self control?
You begin by writing it all down.
To see it in print solidifies the truth
You share it with others who understand
You pray about it. You ask God to fill
up the emptiness with his presence.
You thank him for instilling compassion
in your heart for others who are hurting.
You again thank him for his Love and
Blessings to continue on life's journey
