Ask the Wonderful Counselor to Help You
by Tonja Taylor

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.--John 14:26, AMPC

The LORD, the Spirit of God, is not only a wonderful Counselor for us, but we can ask Him to counsel others. He does a much better job!

Ask me how I know!

When I have let my flesh be in control, and just decided to confront someone on something, even if I've started out gentle, I have not always stayed that way, and sometimes I've made things worse.

There is definitely a time to confront wrong behavior, no matter how many sparks fly, because darkness never likes light; wrong never likes right.

The flesh does not like to be corrected, whether it's in others, nor in ourselves.

However, when we ask the LORD for wisdom, He will give it to us.

It's up to us to utilize it.

Part of the wisdom the LORD has given me through the years is to talk to Him when things (read; usually people who have disappointed me and/or not met my expectations) don't go the way I think they should.  He is my Counselor and Comforter, Who forever is with me and for me (through my faith in the shed blood of Jesus on the cross over 2,000 years ago, and me having asked Him to forgive me of all my sins, and come into my heart and be my Savior and LORD!).

He helps me trust in Him, no matter what others do or say, knowing that I am eternally one with Him (as long as I follow Him, stay true to Him, that is).

Another part of the wisdom He's given me is to ask Him to counsel others whom I feel are wrong, have erred against me, or others, or otherwise seem to be going against the Word.

It really is simple, when you think about it.

He's the only One Who knows all hearts, and sees everything at once.

He's the only One Who knows how to resolve every challenge.

He is worthy of our trust and honor and praise. He is worthy to be worshiped all our days.

The best way we can honor and worship Him is to trust Him--with others, with situations, with our emotions.

He is our Prince of Peace, forever!

Hallelujah!
