LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE
by Lupie Riley LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE Freelance writer Lupie Riley Thought: What does it mean to live a purposeful life? Have you ever asked the question “what am I here for, what should I be doing with my life?” Let’s go back to 2022 for a moment. What did you learn from all the turmoil in the last year? Has your prayer life improved? Are you trusting God in your daily living? The lessons we have learned in the last 365 days should be of some help as we enter in to the new year. I’ve listed some suggestion that will make 2023 a life with purpose.
Most of all strengthen your relationship with the One (Jesus) who loves you the most. He will always give you a plan and purpose for living. His word tells us: Phill. 3:13-14 “No, dear brother (sisters) I am still not all I should be but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing; Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to Heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.” We can learn from the past but not live it out each day. We move forward with Christ as our hope, strength, and encouragement. Jer.29:11,12 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for Evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest. Rom. 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how His ways will really satisfy you.” Eph. 4:23-24 “Now your attitudes and thoughts must always be constantly changing for the better. Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature.” Prayer: Father God, help me to follow in your plan for my life so that I can experience your peace and joy in all circumstances. Amen Verse: Col. 2:6,7 “And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done.” Married 58 years, four children, nine grandchildren and three greats. I've been a freelance writer for over 40 years.
