The Most Attractive Man
by Tonja Taylor

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.--Titus 2:3, AMPC

Yes, of course Jesus our Savior and LORD is THE Most Attractive Man! However, I'm talking about earthly men here. I've learned through the years that what is most important and attractive is not the empty things I focused on when I was young and stupid. :)

So, here are things that I often tell my husband make him super-attractive to me (Hint: Husbands love to be admired, and in fact, the Word tells us to make much of our husbands, to admire them, to build them up, etc. There’s instruction in Ephesians 5 and more.)

I've learned one huge key to a successful marriage is being thankful; thankful to God for giving you a good husband, and thankful to your husband for what he does that's good every day--the big, the small, the all.

There are always many things to be thankful for!

What makes my husband attractive--and yours too, when you take time and effort to notice and tell him about it--are many things: going to work every day; dressing well; picking up after himself; cooking; doing things for me when I ask, with a good attitude; helping clean the house; being a good father-figure to my daughter (his step daughter); asking my forgiveness when he recognizes he's hurt me; recognizing and repenting of sin (big, small, in between); asking the LORD to help him be a good husband to me; helping others; reading the Word and books and shows about God, and not watching junk on TV or the internet; tithing and giving offerings as the LORD leads, and being supportive when I give after tithes; attending church regularly and serving there, with excellence; praying daily for our marriage and family; encouraging me in what God has called me to do; hugging and kissing me often; listening much better than he used to, etc.

Yes, I know I'm bragging, but I have the right! We've been married for over 17 years, (Not my first marriage) and it's taken a lonnnnnng time to get to this wonderful place, but so worth it!

Both of us have had to humble ourselves in many ways, and there have been many conflicts, tears, and make-ups. There have also been times so sublime that they are proof that Jesus is alive!

There's more, but please cherish this most special relationship in your life, that is second only to that with Christ Jesus, and is supposed to be a reflection of Christ and the Church.

So, the more you notice (and God will help you!) and acknowledge to your husband things that make him super-attractive to you (including, by the way, telling him he's your "Hero on earth"--and if he's not, keep telling him that, and he will most likely rise to the name!), the more you will most likely notice such good things happening in his life.

Don't give up. If the King of kings arranged your marriage (which He certainly did mine, although I doubted that a few times!), and even if He didn't, He can do wonderful things when you walk in Love toward your husband.

Go for it.  Implement some of these ideas, and you can soon have "The Most Attrractive Man"! You have nothing to lose, and only Heaven on earth to gain!
