Owner of Authority- God. book of Genesis in chapter one reveals that God created all things without exception. He was able to do this because He has what it takes to do it, power and authority. He had the ability to create as much as He had the authority to use the power to bring things that never existed into reality. With authority, He spoke everything into existence. He said, "Let there be... and it was so." saturated the first chapter of the first book of the Holy Bible, ie Genesis. What was the final outcome of His use of power and authority? The Scripture reveals, "Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!" Genesis 1:31(a,b). New Living Translation (NLT). That was in the beginning. When God was alone in the works of creation. Authority transferred. In His infinite mercy and grace, God voluntarily transferred His power and authority to mankind as His representative on the Earth to continue with the work of creation. The Scripture discloses further, Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”, Genesis 1:26
This was how power and authority to reign over all things was transferred to human beings, mankind, who were in their sinless state of Righteousness like God. What the New Living Translation translated as "reign" is what King James Version calls "dominate".
So, to reign or dominate calls for power and authority to use that power. One cannot be effective without the other. Both have to go hand in hand. This was what God did to man in creation.
God confirmed whether things will fall in place from Adam as He allowed Adam to give names to all He had created. The Scripture reads, [19]So the lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. [22]Then the lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. [23]“At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” Genesis 2. This was and still is, an evidence that there is no corrections in the works of God. He does everything perfectly. This was how God delegated His power and authority to dominate to human beings in his state of Righteousness, without sin. He was perfectly carrying God's images and likeness. That was the reason why the Psalmist of Israel was able to write, "17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness." Psalm Authority was Lost (given away) by deceit. A short while after the delegation, another negative dimensions were introduced to the whole episode of human relationship with his Maker.
The earth which was sacred became an entirely different place by loss of the power and authority given to mankind. That was the reason the Scripture is able to disclose, "[24]The whole earth is in the hands of the wicked." Job 9:24a. The salient question is, "Who delivered the earth into the hands of the wicked?" The answer is, "Man did!" This came about in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve became victims of deceit. Satan, the devil, cajoled them into submitting their delegated Dominion to him.
Since that time, instead of man to dominate everything, he has become one of the "things" that satan dominates. He is under control of the devil and his cohorts. What a pity? Since that time, human beings have been missing it. The Holy Bible records, "[3]But it is too late. The people of Israel have rejected what is good, and now their enemies will chase after them." Hosea 8:3. That is the people of Isreal for you. They are not only involved in this but the whole race of man. Do you know the excuse of the enemies of mankind? "[7]All who found them devoured them. Their enemies said, ‘We did nothing wrong in attacking them, for they sinned against the lord, their true place of rest, and the hope of their ancestors.’ Jeremiah 50:7 Since that time, man has not been able to fulfill the assignment given him by his Creator. He lost the where withers he could not help himself to be back to his Maker and Master. Authority Reclaimed (by Jesus Christ). "[18]Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. [19]Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. [20]Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28.
To God be the glory Who gave us His only begotten Son to reclaim the lost authority and power for man. The assignment was restored. It is now meant for only those who become disciples of the One Who reclaim the lost power and authority, Jesus Christ. These are the people who have been redeemed and restored to the old state of being righteous. This was the former status of Adam who represented mankind, by whom the authority was lost when he was deceived.
Since the Lord has reclaimed the ability to dominate, all Christ's disciples are free from satan's dominion. They are to dominate. Apostle Paul has this to say as a man who carried the power and authority to have dominion when he was alive, "[10]that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11]and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:10. Note that it is only those who are Christ"s that can exercise this Dominion. It is only those who are housing Christ in them by His Holy Spirit that every knee will bow for. Note that these are the people who obey Hiscommands.
It is only those who have Jesus Christ that have regained this authority. Conclusion. Naturally, if you have fallen by the sins of the first Adam, I think you need to be restored to your God Who designed you for Dominion. It is a free gift from the Lord. It is wisdom for you to embrace this gift. [15]But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. [16]And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins." Romans 5. [22]Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life." 1 Corinthians 15:22 if you have cast away what is good, believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, the enemy will pursue you. If you embrace the Lord, that enemy pursuing you will bow in the name of Jesus Christ. The choice is yours, choose wisely and rightly too. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
