Feedback.
by Olawale Ogunsola The word "feedback" generally speaking, reveals that something is on ground between certain people. There must be an agreement or an assignment taking place between at least two fellows. Where A commissioned B to carry out an assignment on his behalf, it is essential that A knows about the situation of things from B. For an instance, Jacob, the son of Isaac and grandson of Abraham, sent his son, Joseph on an errand thus, "Go I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks, and bring me word again." Genesis 37:14, King James Version. The feedback in this case is, "bring me word"about the welfare of Joseph's brethren and the flocks. Whether it is in word or action or result, a feedback remains what it is, A FEEDBACK. In the Christ parable of talents where He compared the Kingdom with a wealthy man going on a journey; He revealed how the man distributed his goods to his servants according to an individual's ability, Matthew 25:15. What was the reason for taking this steps, you may ask? He expected a feedback! How? On arrival from his journey, the man who was given five talents came to him with, "Lord, thou delivered unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more." vs 20. The man who was given two talents came with, "Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them." verse 22. What was the response of the Master to his servants from whom he had a good feedback? He commended the two of them with, "Well done , thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." verses 21, 23. That is an instance of a FEEDBACK. A good one for that matter! Feedback with rewards and great promises! Do you know what? An indolent servant with one talent also gave him his "feedback" when the master came from his journey. He said, "Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed." verse 24. That is another feedback. A negative one. An insulting one. Feedback cannot be omitted in the affairs of mankind. It takes place in human relationships and SPIRITUAL affairs. The Lord Jesus gives us a practical example in John chapter 17:12-14 thus: Jesus Christ knew where He came from and at the right time when He had finished His assignment, He returned to the Father who sent Him into the world on Redemption work. On completion of His work here, He went to give His Father a FEEDBACK. Beloved reader, who sent you here? Why were you sent here? How long will your assignment take you? Are you doing what you are sent into the world to do? How are you faithful to the Holy One who has commissioned you? Whether you like it or not, you will give a FEEDBACK to the Lord your God at the right time. Do you know when this will be? Then, what FEEDBACK will you give Him. This will determine the rewards you will receive for your assignment here. I have written this to you as a child of the Most High God.
