It is a very common practice for people, including people of God to celebrate the wrongdoing of another person and forget their own shortcomings and wrongs. They forget that they are also humans.
It is not that they point out such misdeeds but are judgemental and condemnative in words and actions. These people, sometimes, take their eyes and those of others away from their faults or iniquities. Many times they thimk they are better based on the "gravity" of their wrongdoing compared with those of others.

For instance, a sister complained bitterly recently about another woman who was a co-worker with her in an eatery(restaurant). She accused her of stealing certain measures of the materials they use in preparing the meals for people. My question was, "Please, are you sure you are not involved also?" She denied being "grossly" involved but tactically agreed that she only "took" what she would eat. Adding that the woman's case is too much.
Who is a thief? Someone who steals a piece of meat or he who steal a cow? Both are thieves. One should not use another's excesses to cover his evil act.
It is not covering of our sins that can help us but our confession and repentance. Whoever covers his sins obstructs his own prosperity. However, anyone who confesses and turns away from them will receive remission of sins.

My beloved reader, do you want to prosper or not? What you do with your sins will determine how far you will go. Let me reiterate it here that it is possible for a sinner or a wicked man to seem to be prosperous for a season, their end may not be alright if they fail to turn on a new leaf. Kindly determine to walk in the way that pleases the Lord your Creator and it shall be well with you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
