God Needs the Gifts in You!
by Tonja Taylor 29For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] --Romans 11:29, AMP The LORD gives each Believer in Him at least one gift, and He has chosen to need our gifts to help accomplish His perfect Plan in the earth! Hallelujah! Your gifts are precious to God—to bless you, and to help others know Him and grow in their walk with Christ. What if the Christian artists--painters and sculptors and pastry chefs; musicians and singers, band directors and worship leaders; actors and actresses; audio experts and producers; writers and editors and publishers--had decided their gifts were not valuable? There would have been a vaccuum. There would have been a loss. We would not have experienced Christ in all the ways that He intended for us to. Many would not have come to Christ, because they LORD wanted to touch them through these specific gifts, shared in just these precise creative ways as the expression of the many-sided wisdom of God. 10 [The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.--Ephesians 3:10, AMPC What if people thought they were being "humble" and decided not to use their gifts, because someone might think they were being too proud and arrogant? What if everybody thought they would just “let somebody else do it who is better at it”? Not much would get done, and some things God planned would never get done--so the people He'd wanted to touch would never be changed in that way for Him! Or what if everybody wanted to do the same thing? That wouldn’t work very well either. Everybody cannot be a full-time pulpit preacher, or there would be no one to preach to! As it says in Romans 12:4-10, we are all necessary. God gives each person gifts as He knows best for us to all work together to show the world Who Jesus is! 4-5 In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ's body, let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't. 6-8 If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.--Romans 12:4-8, MSG You have gifts that you may not even know of. Ask the LORD to reveal them to you, and to help you use them to His glory. He will!
