Soul Dance (excerpt): Grace to Make Hard Decisions
by Tonja Taylor And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.--2 Corinthians 12:9, KJV Somewhere, praise the LORD, the Spirit of God taught me to ask Him to "put His Grace upon this" (whatever situation I was facing), and He is faithful to do so! He loves us all the same, and will help us when we ask. You can ask Him for Grace to help you make the right decision(s), especially when it's hard; especially when your soul (mind, will, emotions, especially troubled and tethered by negative memories) do not want to do something. The mind, will, and emotions of every person is our soul, and that's where "the flesh" comes in. The term does refer to our bodies, of course, but often when the Word speaks of "the flesh," it means how we respond (or, rather, react!) from roots (often wrong/negative) lodged in our minds or wills or emotions, or a combination of these. The enemy can only operate through our bodies and souls, especially once we are born again by believing in the shed blood of Jesus on the cross, to pay for all the junk and wrongs we've done--for which we could never pay (John 3:14-17)! Hallelujah! So, with the declining health of my dear elderly mom, even though the LORD had provided excellent godly women to help care for her in the day, and, more recently, Hospice, there was still more to be done: she needed 24/7 care, someone to be there in case she fell and could not get up (which had happened more and more the past few months--although the LORD had been so very faithful to "keep all her bones from being broken," (Psalm 34:20) which I have proclaimed over her often through the years (God's Word never returns empty, but accomplishes that for which He sends it! Isaiah 55:10-11!). After resisting the thought of us having to combine households with my mother--with whom I had not had a good relationship most of my life, although I admired her in many ways and knew that she loved me and appreciated many kind and faithful things she'd done, I realized suddenly that the only answer to truly help her (besides putting her in a nursing home, which we did not want to do, especially becaue her the 50-year-old house she lived in, which she and Dad had built, was well paid for, and it was her place of refuge, after many traumatic medical issues and challenges through the years--especially in the past five years since Dad died). The LORD knows all things, and His timing is perfect. When the thought that we should combine households entered my heart this time, there was peace and rightness to it. Of course, Mom was greatly relieved and glad. She had known she needed 24/7 help, but knew she could not afford private pay. So I've asked the LORD to put His Grace all over our transition. He is faithful. He will! Ask the LORD to give you Grace to make hard decisions that are needed, so your soul will line up with them and you can rest, knowing He has gone ahead of you and made the way smooth as possible, and that He is with you always, working all things for your best and His glory (Romans 8:28). Being intimate in spirit with the LORD is a huge "secret" to understanding how to access His wisdom through Revelation. Also, He tells us in James 1:5 that, when we ask Him for wisdom, He generously gives it to us and doesn't mind us asking! The way I am most intimate with the dear Holy Spirit Who knows all things is to draw near to Him by worship. Another excellent way is prayer, especially praying in the Holy Spirit. Proclaiming His Word out loud is another powerful way to get our minds in alignment with His, for He is the Word (John 1)! Hallelujah! The LORD will help you to make the right decisions. When you truly love and respect the LORD and do your best to honor Him, He will help you every step of the way, as a loving father helps his obedient child--and helps that child even if he or she is not obedient, because any father who truly loves his child will never lead him or her wrongly. 12 Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose. 13 He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land. 14 The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.--Psalm 25:12-14, AMPC God is faithful, forever.
