Honey in the Rock
by Tonja Taylor

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.--Galatians 6:9, AMPC

"You need to visit your mom this weekend," the caretaker told me by text about my 80-year-old mom. "She's not eating and not feeling well."

I knew the five-year anniversary of my dad passing to Heaven was then, and I figured she would have struggles, emotionally.

She did. She insisted she heard and saw my dad for days, and thought he was actually alive again. But she was worried that she had no money to bury him again; no insurance, etc.

I asked her, politely but directly, if she thought this was the devil, for he can send dreams and visions, like God. The enemy cannot create; all he can do is copy God and pervert (twist) things God does.

She mentioned she was chasing him down, insisting he speak to her and answer questions, but she could never catch him.

I asked her if she was glad to see him, and pointed out that it didn't seem that there were anything but negative emotions attached to these appearances.

After decades of her being tormented and afflicted in every way, since I'd known her for the past 56 years; after decades of nterceding for her, living an overcoming and (finally) victorious Christian life before her and witnessing about the deeper, victorious Christian life to her (which involves repentance and discipline of Bible study, church attendance, prayer, worship and making changes as the Holy Spirit points out things, while knowing that His thrust is always, always, forever to help us, because God loves us so much He sent Jesus the perfect Son to die for us on the cross! John 3:15-17), she was finally ready to truly listen.

She had let my husband pray for her and plead the blood of Jesus over the house, and this was a biggie.

God had, in His faithfulness, sent a nurse who was a strong Believer, who treated her feet three times a week, and who was obviously praying for her and witnessing. God had also provided two Christian caretakers who were praying and witnessing. I knew my church had prayed for her, for I had recently asked for prayer for her before the whole church (including the live stream that went to many countries), so it wasn't just me.

God is so merciful, and not willing that any should perish! Hallelujah!

So, by the time I visited her that day, the LORD truly gave her spiritual breakthrough--the wisdom of submitting to Him; honey in the rock!

I talked frankly with her and told her the apparitions of Dad sounded like the devil, and that she had authority to tell him to stop it, in the Name of Jesus.  I ascertained with her, through her verbal agreement, that she had indeed received Christ Jesus as her Savior, all those decades ago. I reminded her that, because she did, she had the authority to tell the devil to get out, in the Name of Jesus.

I also asked her to forgive me again for however I'd hurt her through the years. (God had done much healing in our relationship, praise Him!)

She let me lead her in a prayer to do that, and repented to God for allowing anything against Him in her life. She also invited, with me leading her by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit!) the Holy Spirit, the LORD Jesus, and the holy angels to come and be in her home.

I know this was "honey in the rock"--for her and for me! Jesus is the Rock of our Salvation, and His honey is wisdom.  It was wisdom for me to continue to witness lovingly, live the life before her, and be ready to be courageous to talk boldly and lead her in this prayer, if the time ever came. It did!

God is faithful, and what He's done for me, He will do for you! Ask Him for wisdom and Grace to wait on His perfect timing to partner with Him to deliver your loved ones.

He is faithful. Go for it, and you'll have honey in the Rock!

[God] would feed [Israel now] also with the finest of the wheat; and with honey out of the rock would I satisfy you.--Psalm 81:16, AMPC
