THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH
by Lupie Riley
Freelance writer Lupie Riley Thought: In this age of computer-generated images, it’s difficult for the children in this last generation to distinguish what is real and what isn’t. With animals that talk, digital enhanced movies and games, life like robots, virtual reality head gear, they live in a fantasy world. They have been weaned on technology, indoctrinated in evolution, and embraced relativism through their schools and college. They can now set their own rules. Biblical truths are outdated and irrelevant. The end results are rebellion and godlessness. No higher power to tell them how to live, they are their own God. Pontius Pilot asked Jesus “what is truth?” Jesus answer to truth is “I AM the TRUTH and the life and the way, no man can come to the Father without me.” God’s Word is TRUTH because God cannot lie. We can put our complete trust in Him and His Word, the Bible. Our spiritual health depends on the truths in His Word. The world would have us to believe the lie they have perpetuated. Their mantra is “live it up because this is only one time around” it all ends here. No hope for life hereafter. There are thousands of people walking around with no hope for a better life after death. Their depending on what the world offers for their contentment. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how his ways will really satisfy you (Rom. 12:2).” What is truth to you? Is it found in Jesus or the world? He’s coming soon to take his own before judgment falls upon a rebellious world. The second time around it will be cleansed by fire. Are you ready when that trumpet blows to meet Jesus in the air in your transformed new body? Just like the one Jesus had after his resurrection. That’s why this event is called “the blessed hope” (I Cor. 15:46-49). “First, then, we have these human bodies and later on God gives us spiritual, heavenly bodies. Adam was made from the dust of the earth, but Christ came from heaven above. Every human being has a body just like Adam’s, made of dust, but all who become Christ’s will have the same kind of body as his—a body from heaven. Just as each of us now has a body like Adam’s so we shall some day have a body like Christ’s.” Are you ready to meet the Lord in the air? Prayer: Father God, thank you for this blessed hope of meeting you in the air with our new bodies complete and holy. Amen Verse: II Tim. 3:16,17 “The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is TRUE and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us to do what is right. It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.”
