By The Spirit
by Tonja Taylor Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.--Zechariah 4:6, KJV Being "led by the Spirit" is just that; the Holy Spirit gives us understanding (light, revelation) about something or someone--past, present, or future--to protect and direct us. Some people call this a "hunch," but the Holy Spirit is not a hunch. He is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, and He is the Mind of God. Hallelujah! It is so important to be led by the Spirit, especially in these crazy times, not only to stay away from danger and other negatives, but to hear clearly from the LORD on how to fulfill His will to use our gifts, talents, and resources to glorify Christ and help others, that people may be drawn to Him and be born again, to go to Heaven with us true Believers! Being led by the Spirit is important in every part of life. Always, always, being led by the Spirit first means to know the Word of God. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.--Ephesians 6:17, AMPC The Holy Spirit, Who is One with God, and Who is God, will never direct a person to do something that is against the Word of God! …7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood— and these three are in agreement. 9 Even if we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony that God has given about His Son.…--I John 5:7-9, Berean Study Bible The Spirit of God is Jesus inside of every Believer in Christ, and in Heaven, and also in the world, drawing people to Himself. Hallelujah! The Word of God is very clear on many things, and is the basis for us being led by the Holy Spirit in very personal matters, such as whom to marry; which church He wants us to be planted and blossom in; which career to train for; how to handle specific challenges in relationships, etc. When we are born again by truly believing in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross to forgive and cleanse us from our sins, then He is first our loving Father, Who loves to help us--and Who loves us perfectly, forever, in spite of our performance (or lack of it!). Hallelujah! 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.--Romans 8:14-17, NASB What an awesome God--The Awesome God, Who is Love (I John 4:8)!--we serve! If you think you are being led by the Spirit, it must agree with the Word of God. It must bring you peace, for Jesus is the Prince of Peace. (If the LORD introduces an idea that is bigger than you have been thinking, there may be some fear, but He will help you recognize and reject that, for He never works with fear, and He will give you grace and courage to do what needs to be done!) So--I have found this especially happens when I am listening to His Word and worshiping to true worship music, or singing or playing worship (or signing or dancing) myself--when an inspiration comes to call or visit someone, or forgive someone, or do something, or even look up something about Him (even on the internet), then that is HIm leading you by His Spirit. If you're in doubt, wait on Him. He will make it plain to you! He is faithful!
