Healing For Your Flesh
by Tonja Taylor

20 My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.-Proverbs 4:20-22, AMPC

Proverbs is known as the book of wisdom. Truthfully, the whole Bible is wisdom! Today, the LORD spotlighted these Scriptures in Proverbs 4, which we can claim for healing for not just our bodies, but all our 'flesh'--mind, will, and emotions!

As a Christian growing in the ways of God, you may have heard of ministers refer to "the flesh," and "getting control of your flesh." This means your mind, will, and emotions--the soulish part of you.

What they mean is that it is a process of growth in knowing and following God's Biblical principles (which is what "sanctification" is)--of letting our spirits (our hearts; the part of us that is one with Christ Jesus, when we are born again by believing in His pure blood shed for us on the cross at Calvary over 2,000 years ago, to pay the price for all our sins, as spoken of in John 3:14-17, Romans, and most of the Bible!) guide and govern us, and not our minds, wills, nor emotions.

Feelings cannot be trusted, and, praise the LORD, faith in God is not a feeling! Yet, unless we are trained in the higher ways of God, we can be born again--like I was, since I was 9--but have all this mess in our lives, and be manipulated by the pulls of the world, and chained by the (often ungodly, carnal) desires of our minds, wills, and/or emotions.

Romans 8:1-5, AMPC talks about this (underlines are mine):

8 Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. 3 For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],

4 So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. 5 For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

Truly, Jesus is our only Hope of being like God!

But He is Everything; the All-in-all, the Great I AM!

He will help us desire to learn and yield to His Spirit (Galatians 5:22) in us. Truly, we cannot do it without His help. Even those not yet born again are still created by Elohim--God the Creator (Genesis 1), and that is why there is any love, high work ethics, moral stability, etc. in them. (They still must be born again in their spirits, however, by receiving the forgiveness and cleansing of the LORD Jesus Christ (Romans 3:7, 10:13), or the real them (spirit and soul) will go to hell when their bodies die!  That is the main reason why Jesus, after His resurrection and being on earth about 40 days, seen by hundreds (HALELLUJAH! JESUS IS ALIVE!!), went back to Heaven--to send the Holy Spirit Who lives in every true Believer, and is ever-present in the world, to continually draw all people to Himself, as much as possible.

God has chosen to give every person a free will, and is the ultimate Gentleman. He leads us by His gentle, faithful, Grace and Love; His goodness, for He is good, and His mercy endures forever!

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.--Psalm 100:4-5, AMPC

So, we all have stuff to work on, to become more like Jesus. The more are like the LORD, the more peace and joy and success we will have (Ask me how I know!), and the more others will see the true Savior--which their spirits and souls long for! (Romans 8:20-23)

By the wisdom of God--which is His Word, and His Spirit (He will only speak to us in alignment with His holy Word! Praise Him!)--we can receive healing for our bodies, and for our "flesh"--our minds, wills, and emotions.

There were at least two times in my life when, because of mess and trauma and not understanding the deeper things of God, that I thought I was going to lose my mind! The LORD helped me get by myself in a quiet place (I had to go to the local college, to an upper study room, where it was quiet on purpose!), and take my Bible, a pen, and notecards, and just open His Book and write Scriptures, over and over--then meditate (think on repeatedly, and even speak out loud again and again) on them.

With His Word, He healed my mind, will, and emotions to keep me sane and start forgiving those who'd hurt me, and begin the process of doing more to keep my mind on Him. Hallelujah!

He is so gracious, faithful, and good! He is Love (I John 4:8). Hallelujah!

He is our Help and our Shield, and sends His Word to deliver us from our destructions!

He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction.--Psalm 107:20, AMPC

So He is sending this wisdom to you right now, to bring greater healing to your life! As you are healed and made whole, your life will be a witness to others that they can be healed and made whole, too, and have more of the wonderful life Christ Jesus our Savior died to give us (John 10:10)!

And that, my dear, is why we are on the planet!
