One Way to Have a Better Life!
by Tonja Taylor We all want a better life--and God wants it for us! He wants it so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross and destroy the power of the curse, so we could live in The Blessing (John 10:10)! Here is one way to truly start having a better life. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).--John 10:10, AMPC We know that abundant life in every dimension, every day, is God's will. So how do we get more of this? This is so simple, but we can all do this more: Be thankful for the good! There is so much good in our lives! Even if you start with one thing--which is, of course, the main thing!--that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died for you (and me, and all!) on the cross, to pay for all our sin, that we would have a relationship with Him and the Father and the Holy Spirit, Who are One (Gen. 1:26), your life can start becoming better, and much better, every day! God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.--Genesis 1:26, AMPC We are made in God's image, and He instructs us to be thankful! This is to help us set our minds on things above, and become more spiritually-minded, which is life and peace; what we all want more of! Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].--Romans 8:6, AMPC When we are more thankful, we are happier; more positive; more energized; freer; more creative. I've even heard more than one minister declare that many people in the insane asylums became insane because they were continually unthankful! So grumbling, judging, criticizing, unforgiveness, bitterness, rehearsing past disappointments, etc. etc. are not God's way, and will only cause damage (Ask me how I know! But, praise the LORD, through Him continuing to lead me closer to Him, to learn more of His Word, through worship and prayer, and repentance, and attending a Bible-believing church, the mud of this junk has been, in a very great amount, washing out of my life by the Living Water of Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!) in one's life. Don't we love it when our kids and spouses and family and others are thankful to us, and for us? Don't we feel better when we are thankful? I rest my case! Another thing that just occurred to me, as I was typing the previous sentence, is that we are all looking for rest--in our spirits, souls, and bodies. Now, when we are truly born again by believing in and receiving what Jesus did for us on the cross, our spirits are truly at rest--in the Holy Spirit Who is Jesus. For I am well assured and indeed know that through your prayers and a bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) this will turn out for my preservation (for the spiritual health and welfare of my own soul) and avail toward the saving work of the Gospel.--Philippians 1:9, AMPC Hallelujah! So, you can do many things to have a better life by simply being more thankful: (1) Write thank you notes to people--especially those who may not expect it. Even for something a person did years ago for you; it's never too late to say, "Thank you!" and it will be well received! (2) Keep a thanksgiving journal and write it in very often, even daily; even more than once a day! You will be amazed at how many things you have to be thankful for! (3) Get with your spouse, your family, a friend, or even with just you and God (Who is your very Best Friend in Jesus, and God is your loving Daddy!), and read some of those things you've written out loud. You can even open it in random, and as you read out loud, you'll most likely start to feel happier--and you can cultivate this habit so that you quickly start rejoicing in the LORD, and can even sense the pleasure of the LORD through the Holy Spirit wih you, as you read and rejoice! Hallelujah! He tells us in Psalm 100, to approach Him with thanksgiving: 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.--Psalm 100:4-5, AMPC As my husband and I remark on often, we have no problems, compared to most of the world, and even most of the USA! We are blessed! So start right now being thankful, and you'll very soon realize you don't have time to thank God for all the good things He's done for you--even one day of your life! Hallelujah! Your life will just get better and better, the more thankful you are! There may be challenges and roadblocks that the enemy throws up to try to discourage you and stop you in this new form of victory, but persist, and he will give up and get out of your way--displaced by the far greater power of the LORD Jesus Christ, Who loves you and Who is your victory! But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our LORD Jesus Christ.--I Corinthians 15:57, AMPC Thank the LORD right now that His Plans for you are good and only good (Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10 and 3:20), and you can start right now by speaking this Scripture aloud: The grace (blessing and favor) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with all the saints (God’s holy people, those set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His). Amen (so let it be)!--Revelation 22:21, AMPC
