How to Be More Creative
by Tonja Taylor According to one well-known minister, "We were created to create." Hallelujah! These tips can help you be more creative, to the Glory of God! 1.Welcome Elohim and invite Him to create through you. "Elohim" the Hebrew name for the Creator. It is Elohim Who created the universe and everything in it--to be good (Genesis 1 and 2). If you are born again by faith the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross to forgive and cleanse you of your sins (John 3:15-17), then Elohim--Jesus the Christ, Who was and is and is to come--is in you! Jesus and the Father (God, Elohim) are One (John 10:30)! 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.--Genesis 1:1-4, AMPC 5 Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: 6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;--Isaiah 42:5-6, AMPC Every gift we have comes from the LORD (Romans 12; James 1:17), so we should use what He gives us to live holy and bring Him glory. We are created to create and to enjoy creativity, that brings glory to God. When we create to His glory, it is Elohim in action! 2. Create a space that is conducive to your creativity. It can be a corner of a room, or a much bigger space. Organize your materials; arrange them in the flow where you will feel free and artistic. I've changed the arrangement of furniture in my office several times. The Holy Spirit helps me to make changes for the season I'm in; for whatever form of creativity I need to accomplish. For instance, when I had a roll-top desk, I felt boxed in, so I sold it and got a flat-topped desk. I also turn my desk to face the window, so there is much light. In addition, I really like the outdoors, so I have many photos of waterfalls and other outdoor scenes on my walls, to inspire me. 3. Play the Word of God and/or worship music (including instrumental, and classical) in the background. This will help usher in the Presence of God, Elohim the Creator, and also relax you, by getting your mind off yourself, circumstances, and onto the LORD. You will experience more freedom and peace and joy the more you practice this. 4. If you get distracted easily, ask the LORD to help you focus, and declare you have the Mind of Christ: For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.--1 Corinthians 2:16, AMPC He will help you! 5. Remember that the LORD takes great joy in you, and in partnering with you---His beloved Child--to reach this needy world in creative ways for Christ Jesus! Many people who would never go to a church have been, are being, and will be brought to Salvation, as well as healed and freed and inspired, by the creative flow of God through willing Believers like you and me! Go for it, and know that God--the REAL "Force"!--is with you! Through books, courses, presentations, service, prayer, worship, and more, Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. Her series for girls, P.O.W.E.R. GIRL ADVENTURES, is now out (books I-V), along with LEGACY; YOUR HOLY HEALTH: VISIONS OF THE KING, and more. See the "River Rain Creative" YT channel.
