"Jesus said to them, "Have you never read the Scriptures: "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes?" (Matthew 21:42)
In secular life there's no way to predict what's around the corner, and much of what comes is out of our control; rendering us void of a solid foundation on which to grow and creating an enormous obstacle in regards to maintaining satisfaction in life.
Moreover, in the present age with Satan having increasingly more power and the way our circumstances change from good to bad and back again, much of the time without warning; it's not hard to understand that many are given over to anxiety, stress-related illness and the like. This is largely due to the shaky foundation on which many live; just letting life happen while relying on worldly answers to problems, rather than seeking God and allowing Him to sit in the driver's seat; guiding and directing which way we ought to go.
But for the saved, the ever-changing, unpredictable circumstances of life do not need to so profoundly shake the foundation on which we are planted. We can allow the Lord to plant us firmly on solid ground: JESUS: "the Chief Cornerstone," courtesy of His Spirit dwelling within us. Thus, we can hold on to a deeper, more meaningful and lasting sense of contentment and satisfaction in life:
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole world building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22)

With the narrative today pushing what should be deemed "essential" it's priceless to know the only thing we really need is Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Who saves us from death.
This is not to say that life will go smoothly all the time, but with Jesus as King, we can find joy even in trying times, and He will get us through and even change our bad into good.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)
And when you think about it, that's even more satisfying than living a perfect life that never enters into any problems, because we get to experience the most satisfying thing we can have in this life: God Working in it! We get to experience His Glory. What could be better than that?
“For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place.” (1Chronicles 16:26-27)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11)
