How God sees us
by Michael Hume These verses and others like these built my faith during trials. They encouraged me when Satan tried to wear me down by accusing, condemning, and persecuting me, in various ways. They built my faith when there was a lot of pressure, stress, worry and anxiety. They refute Satan and man, and enable us to see ourselves as God sees us. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14. We are made originally from the dust of earth. God wonderfully formed Adam and Eve, and put a lot of thought and ingenuity into creating man. It is not possible to praise God enough. “As for the saints who are in the earth, They are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.” Psalm 16:3. We are the true nobility on earth and in heaven. Our Heavenly Father is a Great King, and that makes you a princess or prince of the kingdom of God. “And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17. We can personalise this verse. To get praise from God is better than all the accolades and honour man can give you. I would rather please God than self or man. “You are the salt of the earth.” Matthew 5:13. Salt of the earth means a good, honest person, but we are more. We carry the precepts, commandments and ways of God with us wherever we go. We avail ourselves to God, and this way He sends us people to serve. He tells us of situations to pray for. This is what God is looking for, people who will walk with Jesus and help God with His salvation plan on earth. We are down to earth, and very humble. We are the real people, the life bringers, the ambassador’s of God on earth. For us God is already a reality, and heaven is real. "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14. We are full of light from top to bottom, but most of the time we do not see that because God keeps it closed to us. Jesus was transfigured and three disciples saw Him as full of light, and even His clothes were like light. I believe Jesus looked like that to God the Father all the time, and all God did was not to hide it from them anymore. “But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”” 1 Samuel 16:7. Man looks at our outward appearance, and worldly people judge us by human standards, which are Satan’s standards. God looks at us differently, and He knows our hearts, and keeps us constantly in His ways. “For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." Hebrews 7:17. God sees us as eternal priests. This type of priest serves God directly, and is more like the earliest apostles. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9. We are a chosen people. Jesus said many are called but few are chosen. We are among those chosen to follow Jesus and live with Him forever in heaven after this life. We are a royal priesthood because our Heavenly Father is a Great King and is the royal Head of our family. Jesus is still our Chief Priest and He makes us priests. Priesthood and being a child of God go together. We are a holy nation collectively. We are taken out of the world to follow God yet remain in the world until our life purpose completes. Our loyalty first is not to the nation or nations of our natural passports. Our first loyalty is to Jesus, then in my view, our family. “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Luke 12:7. God knows precise details of our being, even things we may not consider. He knows everything about us every moment and is with us all the time. “And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Hebrews 1:3. If God sustains all things by His power, then He sustains us by His mighty power too since we are included in ‘all things.’. “ And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’?” Mark 11:17. We are individually called to pray for all nations. Collectively we also pray for all nations. Jesus prayed a lot alone in the wilderness. If Jesus prayed a lot, then His disciples should be prayerful. Prayer is one of the key features of a transformed life. You begin serving God on earth, and ask Him frequently to intervene in many things which you see. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.” Matthew 10:29. If God is so caring and loving and concerned for sparrows and will not let them die prematurely. No need for us to worry about dying early, since God cares for us more than the sparrows. “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6. Most of our praying is meant to be done in private, and God sees and records our prayers. Jesus prayed alone in the wilderness a lot. Most of His prayers are not recorded by man, but God definitely rewarded Him for those prayers. “Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.” Malachi 3:16. When those who honour God and fear Him talk to each other according to God’s will, and sometimes about Him, God records such encounters and the conversations. They are pleasing to Him. “For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."” Hebrews 7:17 Our priesthood is an eternal one, and we will continue serving God in heaven. Ours is a similar type of priesthood to Jesus, and is dissimilar to the Levitical priesthood. “And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:17 God is well pleased with us. We can personalise this verse. “And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.” Revelation 8:4 Our prayers are like incense to God. “For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” 2 Corinthians 2:15 We are a pleasing aroma to those who are saved, and even to those who are not. “He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed…” Daniel 10:11. We are highly esteemed in God’s eyes and that is what matters most. It does not matter if man compares himself with us or persecutes us. We are what we are in God’s eyes. Not less, not more. We are not defined by man, but by God. We are individual Christians, and no one can take away our faith, or what we have earned from God, done for God and what God has freely given us, as long as we continue with God. “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” Isaiah 49:16 When I want to remember something important for the day, I write it on the palm of my left hand. It is something important for the day. It is personal, private and close, and God takes great personal care of us and keeps us close to Him. “If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem my highest joy.“ Psalm 137:5-6. God never forgets us. He is saying this in the most absolute certain terms. Michael Hume. The Holy Spirit teaches you everything. Copyright belongs to author. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
