WILL HEAVEN BE BORING ?
by Lupie Riley WILL HEAVEN BE BORING? Freelance writer Lupie Rile Thought: Not long ago a gentleman asked this question in my adult Bible class. “Will we be just floating around on a cloud playing our harps? Since we aren’t fighting temptations anymore will I be bored, he said?” I thought to myself, Heaven wouldn’t be heaven anymore if we still had the tendency to sin. In Heaven we will know God in his glorious fullness and the knowledge of Him will fill our new world. This gentleman had forgotten some of God’s promises to His children. Once we are in our new, eternal bodies Jesus will have a banquet waiting for us, his bride, the church, after rewards are given to those deserving of them. It will be a time of celebration. After the seven years of tribulation have ended on Earth, we will return with King Jesus and be busy about helping him set up his kingdom. Bored, I don’t think so Believers should not be fearing the future but looking forward to the time we will put on these new, immortal bodies, discarding the old full of pain and heartaches. Limbs will be restored, the blind will see, the crippled will walk and all tears will be whiped away. Jesus resurrection was the forerunner of what’s to come for us as believers. He walked with the disciples for 40 days and even prepared a meal for them. What an incredible future we have with Christ. This world should have no hold on us when our hope lies in what awaits us in the near future. In these troublesome times we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and hold on to his promises he made to all his children. NEW BODIES: Phill. 3:21 “When he comes back (rapture) he will take these dying bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer all else everywhere.” CELEBRATION TIME: Rev. 19:7 “Let us be glad and rejoice and honor him; for the time has come for the wedding banquet of the Lamb, and his bride (the church) has prepared herself. RETURN WITH CHRIST: Rev. 19:14 “the armies of heaven, dressed in finest linen, white and clean, followed him on white horses.” This should bring a smile upon all you horse folks. He’s coming soon and it will be a time of rejoicing. Prayer: Father God, even so come soon. Maranatha Verse: Rom. 15:13 “May the God of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. “ Married 58 years, four children, nine grandchildren and three greats.
