80 Million Dollars Worth of Drugs
by Tonja Taylor "You're on duty tonight," said my manager, sweeping his hand toward the numerous rows of pharmaceuticals stacked from floor to ceiling in the mammoth warehouse. "Remember," he said, smiling--albeit not pleasantly--"you're responsible for 80 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF DRUGS!" I was looking forward to going home. I was kind of startled, and a bit rude. "What are you doing here?" I asked him. "I'm here to pick up an order," he said. Order? What order? No one told me about an order, I thought, starting to get a bit unnerved. LORD, what do I do? Is he here to rob the place--for $80 million dollars worth of drugs? The Spirit of the LORD calmed me from within. He'd always had my back, and He always would. "Have a seat and I'll look for it," I told the man. I walked away from him into the inner office, and started praying under my breath. The Holy Spirit reminded that the cameras were on. That was a comfort. Still, as I knew I should, I called my manager. I talked quietly so the man in the front couldn't understand me. I could tell he was still in the lobby. I don't know why I hadn't locked the door, but anyway, here I was. My manager was a little concerned as well, but assured me that no order were supposed to be picked up today. I put the phone down, and prayed. LORD, I need You to help this man leave, I told Him. I'm not having trouble. I bind the devil, in Jesus' name! I realized that, it wouldn't matter if there were $80 billion dollars worth of drugs, or a warehouse full of pure gold--nothing was more valuable than my relationship with my Heavenly Father and His matchless, unfailing Word! It comforted me to know that my Daddy God knows every detail of my life since before the world began, and had already worked all this out for my best and His glory. I was safe with Him. Just like it states in Psalm 139, God says, "…3 You search out my path and my lying down; You are aware of all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, O LORD. 5 You hem me in behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.…(Psalm 139:3-5, Berean Study Bible) I heard the man get up, and I walked out to speak to him. I knew he couldn't harm me, for God and His angels were watching over me. "Sorry, I didn't find it," I told him. "You can come back Monday morning." He shrugged and nodded, and walked out. I quickly locked the door behind him. Thank You, LORD, You are faithful! Maybe he was harmless--but maybe not. But You are with me always, and always protect me! 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, 9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, 10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent. 11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].--Psalm 91:5, 9-11, AMPC
