It Will Be Removed
by Tonja Taylor 13 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through]Him.--Colossians 2:13-15, NASB When the salesman came to the door to ask if I wanted to sign up for 4X the internet speed--free for a three-month trial, by the new company in town--I said yes. He implied it would be noticeable, etc. I should have known when I felt a bit strange about it that the Holy Spirit was trying to warn me not to do it. The salesman gave me his card, and some story about his dog having to be put down that day, like that had anything to do with th esale. I should have known. But, trusting soul that I work to be (after being burned many times through the years), as the "Love" passage in I Corinthians 13:4-8 says ("think no evil," etc.), I cast my cares on the LORD and decided it would be all right. The tech came out a few days later. He shook his head and said, "I should not have been sent out here. They upped it from the station. It's alreayd at 4 times the speed. That guy was just trying to make more money by writing you up as a new customer." "Yeah....we've been your customer for 13 years!" I said. He shook his head again. "But I have his card!" I said. "I'll report him. And how will be able to tell, since we're not gamers or anything?" He said we probably wouldn't unless we were trying to upload a lot of information at once, with heavy graphics or such. We allowed a couple weeks to go by, so see if we noticed any difference. Nope. So, I called customer service and cancelled it, while quietly reporting the salesman's name, and what the tech said, and the fact that we noticed no difference. Long story short, they continued to send the bill for a few months, with me calling the customer service department a few times. When the latest bill came, I started rebuking the demons behind it in the Name of Jesus, and claimed Colossians 2:14, Galatians 3:13, and more. The Word always works. The LORD had been teaching me more about my authority and to use the Word against such junk. So, I was in a good mood when I called the service department for the last time. I prayed in the Spirit and asked the LORD to put His words in my mouth, and connect me with just the right person to handle it. I explained the situation once again, named the salesman, reminded the person on the other end--who'd been sardonic and condescending with me at first--that we'd been loyal customers for years, who paid on time, and "would hate to change companies, etc." I told him I'd written and called more than once. "Who can I talk to that can take care of this?" I asked, politely but firmly. He asked for me to give him a moment. "We will remove it," he said quietly. "Okay, great," I said. "And what was your name again? My husband will ask me for it." He grudgingly told me his name. It was finished. But of course!
