People: activated mounds of clay standing erect in this world
by Jack Vorster

After the first man, Adam, was formed by the Potter from the clay of the ground, he lay motionless, void of consciousness and totally lifeless. And then he became activated by the Potter.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Gen.2:7)

Suddenly, Adam possessed something called life - imparted to him by the Potter. This life, the Breath of Life, empowered Adam’s body of bone, flesh, sinews, blood to be set in motion and take on a consciousness of life and existence as a living human being. Speaking of his spirit (“me”), Job described it as follows.

“Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.” (Job 10:11)

The Potter then took a piece of Adam’s activated (formerly clay) body and shaped a female version of Adam from it. She was named Eve. Now there were two activated mounds of clay in the shape of human beings. Both possessed part of the Potter Himself – the Breath of Life.

These first two human beings, made in the likeness of the Potter, were delighted with their beautiful surroundings and thrilled to be in fellowship with their Maker. Their innocence soon became corrupted by an evil spiritual force which plunged them into a state of spiritual death and physical deterioration. This condition they passed on to their offspring – the rest of mankind now living while they are dead. “But she that lives in pleasure is dead while she lives.” (1Tim.5:6)

Today we have over 7 billion activated mounds of clay in a state of spiritual death and physical deterioration of which only a remnant have been spiritually revived through acceptance of and belief in what transpired on the Cross through Christ Jesus.

The billions of activated mounds of clay who now live in rejection and defiance of the source of their consciousness as living human creatures realise that they are living on borrowed time, but they have not given any serious thought to what lies beyond that borrowed time. “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” (Gen. 6:3)

That time has been decreased to only seventy years – or slightly more. “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” (Ps 90:10)

One could quite rightly say that every activated mound of clay is on a brief stopover on Planet Earth. But what lies beyond that stopover? For those who have not yet appropriated their salvation through Jesus Christ can expect their condition of spiritual death to continue once their earthly stopover has been completed. They will go from stopover on earth to eternity in a place totally removed from the presence of the One who activated their human existence. “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” (2Thess. 1:7-9)

The above speaks of those who manage to remain on stopover by the time God puts an end to all stopovers. However, the same judgement applies to all whose stopover ends before the final hour.

It should be borne in mind that every activated mound of clay never gets deactivated. It is only the clay part that is shed, but the spirit part moves on to the designated place, which is either heaven or hell. “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:47,48)

So what is the bottom line to all of the above? It’s actually quite simple and easy to understand. Make a choice while you’re on stopover in your activated mound of clay.

This is the desired choice:-
“Dear Father God in Heaven. I believe that Jesus took my sins upon Himself and died in my place and rose again on the third so that I may live. Dear Lord Jesus. Come into my heart and direct my life as my Lord and Saviour.”

It’s that easy – provided you meant every word of the above. From now on you’ll no longer be dead while you live and your stopover will be a transition from life to life and not from death to death.
