Execution Of God's Declarations
by Olawale Ogunsola Whatever the Lord pleases, He does in heaven and in earth His action is unquestionable. One thing about His declarations is that He makes all His secrets known to those who fear Him.
The Psalmist says,
So, whatever the Lord purposes, he declares to makind and the motive is to ensure it comes to pass.
The Lord has the exclusive right to expose the contents of His heart to whoever He wants. In the same way He is the only possessor of the unique way He wants to execute what He has declared. No one has any right to question Him. So in many cases, His way of executing His declaration is incomprehensible to mankind. That is the reason He enjoins His people to trust Him even when they cannot understand either His declaration or His method of executing it.
What matters most is (that) "Has He declared it?" If it is "Yes!" Then it is very sure that it will be performed. It is always the best to watch and await how and when it will be carried out.
Let me refer to a Bible-based story of a prominent Bible personality, Abram who later became Abraham. What was God's declaration to him? It runs thus,
Do you know what? This declaration took many years before it came to pass. This man of God must have expected that it will come to pass soon. On the other hand, this declaration took many decades to be performed. One note worthy truth about the man in the promise is that he never doubted : At the end of the day, the Holy Bible records,
Let me state here that every declaration about you will surely come to pass so long you do not doubt what the Lord had purposed concerning you.
Let me tell you a story of another man of God who exercised his faith to witness fulfilment of God's declaration at the right time and in the best way He had planned.
What was the story?
This faithful and hardworking man of God had one wife with female children. The Lord's declaration concerning him since the conception of the first daughter was, "I will give you seven sons who will become the pillars that will hold your ministry when you are alive and after you."
This declaration kept repeating itself until the man of God and his wife had seven daughters and stopped child bearing.
He resigned to his fate.
On the long run, do you know that the Lord kept His promise in His own time and way? How did it happen?
These daughters became fully grown up and were married one after the other. This man of God seemed to be left with no son or daughter. Do you know what? Each son-in-law was called by the Lord to work for Him for the rest of his life and his place of work is the ministry of the Father-in-law. This was how these seven sons-in-law became the seven pillars that held the ministry in his life and forever.
Man has his ways and God His ways. The way of God is not the same as that of man. However, the way of man may become the way of God if the man submit and embrace the way of God only. The Lord will always have His way in the affairs of man. He executes His declarations in His own time and way. May the Lord give us sufficient grace to have the right faith to embrace His way of executing His declarations in Jesus name.
