THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF SHOPPING
by linzy bruno

I no longer see shopping in the materialistic sense. I used to love to shop for things that I thought would make me happy, until that day when it occurred to me that material things do not and can not bring any true joy, only the fleeting, hollow joy of spending money. Now, I don't buy anything other than what is needed for living, and for those things I am very grateful.

I have a need; I go to the store. God meets me there with the resources He has provided, and my needs are met.

I thank Him as I'm loading my groceries into the car, then on the way home and it doesn't end there.....

I thank Him while I'm cooking and before partaking in the meal; all while my spirit is busy rejoicing!

"and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” (1Corinthians 11:24, NKJV)

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
