Heavenly Convoy
by Tonja Taylor I was traveling between cities for my job one lovely fall day, when I had to stop for road construction. I was the first in line. The flagman was poised at the bottom of a hill that curved around, so that I could not see what was ahead. However, I had planned well, and had plenty of time, so I decided to relax and roll down the window to get some fresh air. I also pulled out my cell phone and opened my Bible app. As I was reading in Isaiah 40, I was soon mesmerized by the wonderful Word of God. Many minutes passed, and then I saw the flagman change the sign from STOP to SLOW. He motioned to me and I started slowly up the rise. As I crested the hill, I saw a large dumptruck--full of dirt. Then I saw another, and another, and another! As I drove the hills and the curves, I realized there was an entire convoy of dumptrucks--at least 20, and truly, I think more like 30--all filled to the brim, all waiting and ready to drop their loads to expand the highway; to improve the path and make it easier and safer for the travelers. I was reminded that this is just a tiny example of the goodness and generosity of our loving Father God--Who loved us so much that He was determined to rescue us from the sure path of destruction we were on because of the sin nature in which every human is born. He sent His only Son, Jesus the Christ, the pure and holy Lamb of God, to die for our sins on the cross (John 3:15-17), and be raised again after three days. Father God, the Creator and Sustainer of all life and of the universe, provided Jesus for us, that our lives would be saved, improved, expanded; much more safe and abundant (John 10:10)! Through books, courses, presentations, service, prayer, worship, and more, Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. Her series for girls, P.O.W.E.R. GIRL ADVENTURES, is now out (books I-V), along with LEGACY; YOUR HOLY HEALTH: VISIONS OF THE KING, and more. See the "River Rain Creative" YT channel. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
