1 Corinthians 1:12-13

Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Apollos, “ or “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

The problem with just reading the bible is not really taking it in. The description of the church of Corinthians sounds much like what is happening in the church today. We need to learn to relax and ask God for discernment. There are many wolves in sheep’s clothing that we have to watch. At the same time there is genuine Christians simply have different views on how to interrupt parts of the bible to us. For example I get upset when people don’t believe that the bread and the wine really turns into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. I am thinking of one women in particular, that we disagreed on it, but respected one another beliefs, because we knew we both love God, with all our hearts. So are many other Christians who are also growing in their faith. We are told by Jesus to treat one another the way we would like to be treated. We all would like to be treated with respect and with love and curtesy.

John 14:26-27

These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

God has always something new to teach us. We might be guilty as I was once as a young person thinking I knew it all, and God then challenge me with new insight. So we never stop learning. That is a beautiful thing. God is so big that I believe when we get to heaven, we will continue to learn new things about Him, without tearing one another down.  We need to rely on the Holy Spirit not our religion so much, because our relationship with God is all important and religion tends to get us stuck in a lot of man-made rules that don’t come from God. We have to quieten down to hear the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God doesn’t push His way in. We have to search for Him sometimes in the Bible being the main place or some holy book that the Spirit of God leads us to.

Prayer is so powerful and we need to pray for everybody not just our family.
