A Few Essential Oils to Use for Better Health
by Tonja Taylor "The river was flowing in the middle of the street of the city, and on either side of the river was the Tree of Life, with its twelve kinds of ripe fruit according to each month of the year. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations."-- Revelation 22:2, TPT From my own experience, I am sharing this about these five essential oils, which all come from things God made--all but silver come from plants. (He made the plants and the silver, and put them in the earth for us!) There are many dependable articles on the internet where you can discover more about these and a plethora of essential oils to help improve your health and enjoyment of life. I am not a physician nor a nutritionist. However, I know these oils have benefitted me and others who have personally told me what they did for them. I have used these three oils off and on during the past few years: 1. Colloidal silver. This is really not an oil, but liquid silver that is in particles small enough to be diffused and thus more absorbable by the body. Colloidal silver is completely safe to be ingested (taken internally by mouth or mixed in water) or applied topically (on the skin) or diffused (through a diffuser or nebulizer, as a vapor to go into the air, and even be breathed into the mouth and nostrils). It helps create a barrier against germs, while also working to raise immunity. 2. Peppermint. This can also be put in a diffuser or rubbed between your palms and then breathed in, to stimulate alertness and promote a feeling of well being. In addition, peppermint is excellent to help relieve discomfort in the stomach. It is often mixed with eucalyptus or other oils in a blend to cleanse the air and/or raise immunity, and often put into toothpaste. Be sure that if you are going to take it by mouth that you get a kind that is safe to ingest. Not all peppermint is formulated to be ingested. 3. Eucalyptus. This is good to help open the sinuses and is found in vapor rubs to relieve colds and other bronchial afflictions. It has a strong smell, but can be refreshing. I am not sure if eucalyptus is used internally. But it is good in a diffuser, or to use as a spray to help kill germs. 4. Tea tree oil. This oil has many uses. It can be taken internally and is used in toothpaste and more. It can be applied topically, and is often used to wipe on counters and more to help kill germs. It has a strong scent, but it is not unpleasant. 5. Oil of oregano. This comes from wild oregano and is a very powerful anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial oil. I use a couple drops in my diffuser nightly, mixed with cinnamon and cassia or other oils, and I take a couple drops under my tongue daily. It can be used mixed with water to wipe down counters and other surfaces to kill germs. It comes in a capsule form as well, for the liquid is potent and can have an aftertaste. All of these oils can be purchased very economically. They can be mixed together for even more powerful and pleasant effects, and all can be put into a diffuser to be put into the surrounding atmosphere to cleanse the air, kill germs, and raise immunity.
