Grandpa Ford grieved the loss of his beloved Belle.
Married for 65 years, he missed Grandma and looked forward to joining her in heaven. Death was not to be feared; he awaited his departure and reunion.
“Some eight days after these sayings, He took along Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while He was praying, the appearance of His face became different, and His clothing became white and gleaming. And behold, two men were talking with Him; and they were Moses and Elijah, who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem (Luke 9:28-31 NASB).”
Grandpa’s departure was announced through an angel’s visitation.
I don’t have a detailed account; I do know he was confused. After seeing an angel or angels, he went and told my Aunt Jessie. He died shortly after. Angels carried Grandpa home.
“Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried (Luke 16:22 NASB).”
