How To Trust God And His Promises
by lareina morgan

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.    He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,    he refreshes my soul.  He guides me along the right paths   for his name’s sake.  Even though I walk   through the darkest valley,  I will fear no evil,  for you are with me;  your rod and your staff,  they comfort me.   You prepare a table before me  in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil;  my cup overflows.  Surely your goodness and love  will follow me  all the days of my life,  and I will dwell in the house of the Lord  forever.

We need to know within our hearts how much God loves us and that He wants to be with us and live within our hearts, and how much He is willing to deliver us from our fears, our pains, and our weaknesses.  The Lord knows us completely; He knows what we need and He knows what we need to become better people and how we can  better live our christian lives.

Trusting God means leaving our problems and issues behind and to step bravely into His heart. His promises flow from your willingness to live for Him and to leave all your troubles behind. We are never to pretend that we are perfect and that do not have any issues. We are to leave all our problems and issues in Jesus Christ. We cannot do it alone. Only the Blood of Jesus brings salvation and hope.

Freedom in Christ means being free from our sinful nature, our sinful thoughts and desires. It means revelation of the knowledge of love , happiness and peace through Jesus Christ. A person who does not know God's word or Jesus Christ has only his own natural desires as a guide and what he was taught in his society. He cannot see his mistakes or his sinful nature until the Lord touches his heart.

Once the Lord touches his heart, a new day can begin. If he accepts the promptings of the Holy Spirit in his heart and accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, his eyes are opened to the reality of his life and the lives of those in his sphere of influence. He will never be the same again when He chooses spiritual life instead of spiritual death. Even if he tries to deny the word and the presence of the Lord, he will know deep inside himself that he was in the presence of God, and he will know that sin is real.

The Laws of God were given to Israel to show the world what sin is and what it is like.  But the knowledge of sin does not make us righteous in God's eyes. It is when we come to the knowledge that being 'good' does not change our sinful nature.  Only the redeeming, powerful Blood of Jesus can save us from our sins and make us whole and able to have a relationship with the Lord and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Prayer of Salvation: (repeat)

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask you to forgive me.
I believe that you died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you.
Amen.
