Experiencing Freedom in Your New Season
by stephanie reck

This month I have been writing about preparing for your new season, make sure to subscribe to my blog where you can get these articles sent straight into your inbox.

As you are entering into your new season you will think that you have not been this way before because you will have a new freedom from the same issues, circumstances and problems that you had in your old season.

The “giants” in your promised land are still there, but in your new season you will now possess the freedom needed to overcome your giants. In your old season you were bound by fear, doubt, and unbelief, but now you are free to conqueror and possess your promised land.

In your new season you will experience the freedom that Christ has intended you to have. You have stayed in bondage and captivity because some in your family were not ready to be free, and you experienced guilt every time you turned to break free and they did not. You kept looking back at their plight and would try to rescue them, but instead you got yourself back in bondage. God wants you to move ahead this time, even if you are the only one wanting to be free in your family.

Freedom comes after being sick and tired of being held in bondage through slavery of sin. After sin has run its course, some will say that’s enough and come running to repentance, others stay in bondage because they don’t want to leave the so-called pleasures sin brings temporarily. Sin brings temporary relief, a false comfort, and fleeting pleasure. Sin eventually leads to destruction and to death. Give the enemy an inch and he will take a foot.

What does freedom in your new season look like?

  1. You are free to be who God has called you to be. You are free from the bondage of what people think of you, people-pleasing, and the fear of man. You are confident in who God has created you to be.
  2. You are free from living burdened by guilt and shame. You no longer feel the weight that people have placed upon you, and you are free from the guilt of your past sins, mistakes, weaknesses and failures. You no longer carry shame from your past and who you used to be.
  3. You are free from past traumas, old issues and wounds. You are able to move forward not dwelling on those things that almost caused your demise. You are healed and whole in this new season.
  4. You are free from generational sins/strongholds that have held you captive. You no longer will be a slave to your sins, and you are now able to crucify your fleshly desires.

As the weights and heaviness of the old season are falling away, you will be free to laugh, smile, dance, give thanks, and enjoy life.

Rejoice today for you have been in captivity long enough, and it’s time to embrace the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

The “cage” is opened and you are released. Go. Be free.

Reflect: What is God saying to you through these verses?

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
