Thought: Depression can be debilitating for anyone who suffer's from it with no preference to age. Weve all experienced low times in our life but to some it's an every day battle. It could originate from genetics, drug use, life situations or loss of a loved one. Any one of these things can trigger that dark place in the mind. Besides medication there also may be other alternatives to use against depression.
In the spiritual sense help does come our way and it's found in one little word, TRUST. There's an old song we used to sing in our church that told us to trust and obey in God's word and promises--there's no other way to be happy then to trust and obey. What can lift us out of the dark depths of depression? Inner strength that comes from the Lord. I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. The Word tell us to dwell on the good things in life. To pray about everything. Tell God your needs. Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely; dwell on fine good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about and don't forget to thank him for answered prayer. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for providing a way out of my darkness. Now it's up to me to TRUST you to give me the strength to practice these positive thoughts and have a thankful heart for all you do for me everyday. Amen.
Verse: Psalms 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it."
