ADVICE TO PARENTS
by Lupie Riley
Thought: There are numerous resources out there that give advice on our love life, marriage and raising children. But the most trustworthy comes from the One who made us..our Creator Father. Who should know better then God on how to build a family? 1. The foundation to good parenting: The Word tells us what kind of partner we should seek after. "Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousnes with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness." A well grounded family begins with the partner we choose. (II Cor. 6:14). Sad to say this trustworthy advice from the One who set the rules is often ignored by the worlds version for partners, marriage and the raising of children. Our Creator had the perfect counsel for the perfect family and only a few have experience it's fruits. Many have followed societies definition of the good life resulting in marrital affairs, broken homes, dysfunctional children lost in the chaos of what used to be considered 'family'. Many parents seem to be too busy persuing their own interests to pay attention to what God has to say about living a life that's worthy of His praise. We, the people of this great nation need to get back to the very foundation of what it mean's to be family from the Word of God. May He continue to bless this nation as long as we keep Him first place in our lives. Prayer: Father God, you give us the best advice on how to live a life that is pleasing to you. Help us all to get back on track to the reading your Word and obeying it's counsel. Amen Verse: II Tim. 3:16,17 "The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God's way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone."
