special in the air. Listen

I hear it – the sound

of a heartbeat. Mine.

Just a few minutes ago

the bike was fine

racing along my journey

sun on my face

wind at my back

a prayer of peace

on my tongue.

The day could not

be better for

a cyclist – then I fell

shoulder hitting 

the well-packed trail.

As I lay there

grimacing in silence –

I asked my Jesus

to take away the

pain. And He did so.
