The lines are long. So long they resemble lines of people waiting for “Black Friday” to start. They’re waiting in line for their fill at the cafeteria of lies. They never run out and they’re always happy to give you all you want and more. The Devil and his demons are eager to serve up abundant helpings of your favorite lies!

As you grab your oversize tray and start down the line the selection never disappoints. Signs above each entrée describes the dish, each with its promise to meet your every desire. You come up on the appetizers of little white lies, excuses and broken promises. Next to them are wide varieties of side dishes of gossip. That’s where most people ask for extra helpings of the latest treats.

Next you move on to the bigger entrées of deception, bigger lies, blackmail and manipulating people. They also have plenty of self-pity pudding, poor me pork, victim mentality meat and pity party poppers. All of which helps you to stay stuck in your mess of bad choices!

Don’t forget desert. All the sweet little lies of hallow compliments that tickle the ear. Self-boasting, pride, selfishness, self-centeredness and the favorites… “You’re worth it” “You deserve it” “Your friends are lucky to have you” “Everyone owes you” and ask for a double portion of “They should kiss your feet”.

There are those lost and deceived fools who know the truth about the cafeteria of lies but enjoy the lying sinful lifestyle so much that they’re unwilling to let it go to allow Jesus to save their souls! Makes you wonder how many Christians are still standing in that line.

The cafeteria of lies can trap you in their ruts of deception to keep you from the truth and glue you to your sinful past. Their side dishes are ALL designed to be “deceptive enablers”, lies so you blame others for ALL of your troubles. As long as you never accept ANY responsibility for any of your problems then you have NO reason to change. The end result is your life is stuck in the cesspool of sin that keeps you repeating the same sinful mistakes that got you there to begin with.

But there is hope and His name is Jesus! He can break the vicious cycle of trips to the cafeteria of lies and get you on the heavenly path of righteous living. You don’t have to be stuck, imprisoned, trapped or have sin reign in your life. Turn ALL of your troubles, cares and worries over to Jesus for He will give you victory!

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).” 1 Peter 5:8 “Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”
