The Hand That Never Lets Go
by Rochelle Arnold

Do you know there is a love that is so awesome that we don’t have to worry about being separated from it? A love that is pure and without mixture. A love that promises to stay by our side and never let go. A love that never leaves nor forsakes us. It’s beyond what the human mind can comprehend. There is a love that is divine and with perfection casts out all fear.  The love of the Father who loved us even when we were still sinners. When we were lost, before we were even born, Jesus died for us. This love reached down through time and saved us from eternal darkness. Jesus took upon Himself the sin of humanity. God is a spirit and He is also love. “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

"I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand. The Father and I are one."  (John 10:28-29)

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8) We are not saved by anything we can naturally do. In other words, we cannot earn our salvation. Since we cannot earn it we cannot lose it either. Once we invite Jesus into our life and our genuinely saved we become born again, which means our spirit is changed and made new. The spirit of a man or woman is the true person. You see we live in these earth suits (our human bodies), which eventually physically die. The spirit continues to exist after it departs from the body. As a believer in Jesus Christ and a student of the Holy Bible, I believe in heaven and hell.

The Bible says whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) There are multitudes of Scripture that confirm salvation is forever. It’s not something you just walk away from and even if you try to you will never be able to release yourself from the firm grasp Jesus Christ has on you.

"Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died and rose again, who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ?" (Romans 8:34)

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38)

So, nothing can separate us from the love of God and since God is love we cannot lose our salvation! I think that is crystal clear from the above Scripture. Nothing can separate means just that, nothing! The blood of Jesus is the glue that holds us together with the Father. For we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11)

For example, if you take the hand of someone much stronger than you and that person has promised to never let go, you will not be able to release yourself from that person no matter how hard you try to let go. If this is physically true in the natural, how much more is this true with God the Father who is the strongest being in the world.

"He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord." (Philippians 2:8-11)

There is no higher authority than Jesus Christ! He cannot lie for the Word of God is infallible. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit. First, we hear the message of the gospel of truth, the gospel of salvation and we must believe. Once we believe we become sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise. The Holy Spirit is the Father’s pledge to us that we are redeemed. (Ephesians 1:13-14) For example, if you have a coupon that is valid and you take it to the grocery store you can redeem a product with it. Once our spirit is sealed it is up to us to take the steps necessary to grow and mature as a believer.

Our physical bodies are not redeemed until the second coming of Christ when we are changed in a twinkling of an eye. The mortal puts on immortal. The corrupt flesh becomes incorruptible. Does that give us a right to live anyway we want? No, it just assures us that we are redeemed. Once we are saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit we are changed from the inside out.

"In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:52)

When interpreting the Bible, we must first study it to show ourselves approved, but we must also not take Scripture out of context and build a whole theology around it. Unfortunately, man has the inclination to live by traditions and denominations. Everything needs to be proofed in the fire of the Word. “Is not my Word like as a fire? says the Lord; and like a hammer that shatters the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29)

The Word is also described as a double-edged sword that separates soul (or man) from (spirit) God. “For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) In conclusion, it is important to exercise your discernment and not receive every spirit that teaches the Bible. We are to tests the spirits because there is so much mixture out there. (1 John 4:1) Mixture is when part of the teaching is correct and then part of the teaching is incorrect.

"I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:8)

Let us study and show ourselves approved rightly able to divide the Word of God and don’t just blindly follow a wrong doctrine or theology because someone or some denomination has chosen to adopt that teaching. Beloved, I assure you when you are sealed by the Holy Spirit you are saved eternally. Don’t let anyone put doubt in you concerning this. In Jesus Holy name. Amen.
