Do You Experience Fighting Within, War Without?
by Olawale Ogunsola “Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.” 2Cor 7:52.
Trouble has become part of human existence. It is not peculiar to one individual or nation. As it happens to male, so it is with female. It does not spare any race, although it takes different forms.
No matter what consitutes a trouble, it needs to be managed well so that you will not be drowned in the sea of that trouble. It is sad that sometimes troubles come in multiples and they can be internal or external, i.e within or without.
This was the experience of certain people of God in 2 Corinthians 7:5. “For indeed, when we came to Mecedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears”
The leader of this group of people of God, Apostle Paul, knew what he was saying. Fear has torment and this was bottled up in them. The torment in fear is capable of paralysing anybody. In addition to fear and torment in it, they experience conflicts outside. The enemies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ persecuted them.
Thank God that Paul and his group were on the Lord’s side and were able to withstand the storms within and without. Apostle Paul reveals, “Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, conforted us...” 2 Cor 7:6 a&b. Do you have the same experience like these people of God? You need the same personality who rescued them, that is God. If you miss Him in your life, you will not only have discomfort’ but the troubles can swallow you up. So you need God!
It is pertinent to state here that there is an urgent need to examine yourself. Ask yourself, “What is the source of my troubles?” If the source is loss of a smooth or lack of a relationship with God who can save you, then you are doomed. Deuteronomy 32:15 discloses, “But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked, You grew fat, you grew thick, You are obese! Then he forsook God who made him, And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation.” What followed was, “The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within.” Deu 32:15.
Where have you missed it? Have you allowed the Lord’s provision for you to turn you into His enemy? You cannot be comfortable with that type of relationship. If you have enough, He provided it. If you do not have enough, He has all the provisions you need (and that which you will ever need).
Please, let it become clear to you that “He who made the outside make the inside also” and has absolute control over both.
You cannot do without Him.
Therefore, return to your Maker who owns you and can control every trouble in your life, within or without. Let me bring this to a close with Apostle Paul’s statement “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2Cor 1:3-4 Do you want to have the same experienced to utter these words? Draw nearer to God of all comfort. He will comfort you! Stay blessed and ptepared because the Lord is coming soon. NOTE All Scriptures quoted are from New King James Version of the Holy Bible.
