Character

The Basic Need

Too often we preoccupy ourselves with worry that focuses primarily on money and financial gain. We vehemently put emphasis on how much will contribute to our survival here on earth. If managed wisely money will aid in preventing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. In this instance, one must work hard and not submit to laziness.

The Least Important Need

While money provides the basic necessities of life and material values, it is not the most important need. Character is. Based on the ten commandments commanded by the Almighty, our lives are determined by the soundness of our heart.

Character Duty

The commandments were enacted for us to behave accordingly to God's will in order to live in harmony and peace to make a better world. Discernment of good character enables us to be molded into good character intended by God. So, when we set aside all focus on money, and gear toward focusing on spirituality, we become in-tuned with good morals that foster and empower us to live abundantly in Christ, rather than live only in financial abundance.

Benefits

Character shapes us in many ways; it leads us to give and love. If we practice it, it will define our persona as “good and acceptable.” Then our own world will unfold into prosperity and wisdom. We do not have to be perfect in our character as our flaws make it impossible, but we just need to be “good” within our hearts along with being sincere and honest.

Character Over Money

Establishing good character outweighs monetary prosperity in a manner that when we maximize our full potential to bring out our best, money and possessions will be unimportant, and others will recognize us as valuable individuals.

We can only reap good benefits in life by being kind and loving. God will always prepare a way that will stretch beyond trillions of dollars.
