A Word Of Encouragement!
by Dinora Trujeque Imagine you are sharing about the Bible with someone, and he says, "I don't believe this book is the Word of God! How do I even know all these prophecies were really fulfilled?" So, you answer, "I can assure you that all of them were fulfilled one hundred percent." And he says, "Really? Then please tell me the exact year when the prophecy in Acts 11: 28 was fulfilled: “And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius).” What would you respond? Have you taken the time to verify what you read in the Bible? Are you sure about it not because someone told you so, but because you have proven it yourself? I want to encourage you to take Bible study seriously and to ask questions as you read and try to find the answers. There are many ways in which we can grow in the knowledge of God and His Word, but it requires effort and a relentless desire to know more, so we can put it at our Savior's feet and bring glory to Him. Just imagine the expression of surprise in that person's face if you answered, “Yes, this prophecy was fulfilled in such and such year and these are the events surrounding it.” What a difference it would make in the way people perceive us and in what they think about God's Word! And how much would our conviction grow! If only we took the time to investigate and really know what the Bible affirms, and we trained ourselves to share it with simplicity and clarity, no power in this world would be able to stop us!
