Feminine Fingers, Do You Have Them?
by Olawale Ogunsola "Good food is what the body needs, eat well but don't overeat" The above was a common slogan on a radio station in Nigeria, that is in the West of Africa continent, many years ago. Those words are still relevant today and it calls for being religiously observed. It is very dangerous to eat any "junk" and call it food. This is because food has a direct effect on human health. This became manifest in a conversation between a couple one evening when both sat under a fruit tree near their house: "You are now more handsome and fresh looking than when we started our journey of love." the wife keenly observed. "No! Are you telling me I was so ugly and haggard when we started?" the main countered. "Don't misquote me, you were handsome and fresh but now, you are MORE."she happily explained. To draw their conversation to a happy conclusion, I interrupted them with, "That is the effect of a good woman's fingers from her power house, that is the kitchen, on her man." They looked at each other's face, beaming with smiles. This reminded me of the words of Rebecca, the wife of Isaac who was the mother of a set of twins, Esau and Jacob, in the Holy Bible. When she was about to disrupt the plan of her husband to bless Esau, she instructed Jacob thus, "Go now to the flock and bring me from there, two choice kids of the goats, I will make savory food from them for your father, such as he loves. Then you shall take it to your father, that he may eat it, and that he may bless you before his death." Genesis 27:9-10. NKJV. Note that this was Isaac's demand from Esau, "Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me. And make me a savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that my soul may bless you before I die." verse 3-4. Can you see the effect of a very good food on a man in those verses? Please, pay attention to these points: 1. Rebecca knew very well the kind of food that Isaac, her husband, loved. Out of all foods, she understood which was the delight of her man. 2. She was wise enough to learn how to prepare such food. As a woman who loved to be happy in her home she knew well that Isaac deserved to be happy. She prepared to make herself and her husband happy. She did not opt for forcing "junks" through her man's throat and call it food. 3. If Esau, a man, knew how to prepare a savory food which his father demanded, who was his teacher or trainer? As a son of Rebecca, who grew up under her tutelage; the mother should be given the credit. 4. Rebecca's preparation of that savory food was quick. No time was wasted. It was easier to do as experienced woman. It was a timely savory food. She did not consider her (in)convenience. She put the interest of the man first by providing what he loved. 5. The outcome was the release of uncommon prophetic blessings on Jacob. To you as a woman, do you have a husband? What do you feed him with? Do you feed him and other members of your household with good food or junks? Do not be one of those women who easily say, "My husband does not like food." Even if you "think" he doesn't like food, train him on how to eat good food. Why? So that it will be well with him for your sake and that he may live because of you. Read Genesis 12:11-13. Therefore, never fail to employ your feminine Fingers to apply fertilizer to the tree of your love in the heart of your husband. Be fit to be called a complete woman. Do not fall to make your children happy with your feminine Fingers and train them to do likewise. It will be an asset to them forever. Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is coming soon.
