purpose-driven gospel
by George Tickle

If you were to read what The Bible says about starting churches, and study Rick Warren's ideas and his own church, you would see a stark contrast. The Bible says to spread out and not be confined to one place. Saddleback Church , where he is head pastor, has a staggering 25,000 members. They could blanket the state of California if they could just spread out.

Rick Warren does not preach of a Christ who loves you, the reader of this article, but a christ who can be spoonfed to the masses. When he preaches, he asks people that if they want to get "saved" to say a prayer with him and they will be "saved". But that just reduces accepting Christ to a prayer-based routine. Thus a false gospel is produced.

Christ prohesied that many false prophets would rise in the end days. So it comes to no surprise that while Warren is not the only one, he is the main one. He is not to be hated or disrespected in any way, no matter how contrary his gospel to the only true Gospel.
