Marriage is a Ministry
by Desi Lee People get married for lots of different reason but I do pray that the main reason you get married is because of Love. Marriage was designed by God, and has been that way from the beginning of time. It started with Adam and Eve. But I believe that when a person gets married they leave out what I believe to be an important ingredient. And that is Marriage is a Ministry, and if you are not ready to do ministry then Marriage is not for you. We all have dreamed about getting married, but it's an idea that we have thought about and not what it really is. Marriage is not about selfish fulfillment. Marriage is giving, not taking. When you marry someone, you marry everything he/she has been. You inherit their strengths, fears and weaknesses. Marriage is a package deal. God has granted you the grace of ministering to your spouse, to the child in him/her. Be patient, you may not see immediate change, for it takes time for even a small cut to heal. Healing is a process. God will give you the oil of compassion and sweet wine of sincere love to pour into those wounds. The apostle Paul teaches the married woman not to be so spiritual that she in unavailable for the ministry of marriage. God says, "I want the married woman to be concerned about pleasing her husband and vice, versa. I have given you the just of what it is and I do believe that not everyone is ready for marriage. Until a person can truly understand what marriage really is about they will encounter difficulties. Don't get me wrong here I understand every marriage has it's problems that is a given, what I am saying is you have to realize that it's not about you it's about your partner. When a couple has problems the first thing they do is play the blame game. But what one needs to do is. Both of you need to sit and look at the situation and then together decide what is best, that means neither one of your agendas can be apart of the solution. You both pray together and seeking God for His answer to guide you in making the best choice. To all my single people if you are looking to get married one day, please understand that Marriage is a Ministry and that it requires you to work at it everyday. Secondly, allow yourself to mature in Christ and let Him shape you into the man and woman He has called you to be. So when that day comes for you to meet your mate you are prepared to do ministry. May God bless you all this day? http://www.360.yahoo.com/scent4roses Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
