30 pieces of silver
by Cyril Almond

How much do we really value Jesus. Is he worth more than our daily distractions. Mathew 16. verse 24 states it very plainly. Then Jesus said to his disciples. If anyone desires to come after me. Let him take up his cross and follow me.

What does it really mean to take up our cross. To take up our cross means that we are crucifying our old self. Ephesians. 2 verses 13-15. But now in Christ Jesus, you who were once far off have been made near by the blood of Christ. 14. For he himself is our peace who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of division between us.

15. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, that is the law of commandments contained in ordinances. So as to create in himself one new man from the thus making peace.

Now Jesus has done this for us and made a way that we can crucify our old self. Easier said than done. We have the Holy Spirit to help in this matter. You see if we do not follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as he leads us and shows us the way, then we are saying Jesus is not worth more than thirty pieces of Silver. KJV
