A Personal Testimony
by Bobby Bruno I thank the Lord that He has given me lots of stories to tell of His love for myself and others. I have seen many times when Jesus, through His compassion, love, hope, and mercy, has changed a life through me even if I wasn't there when He did it. I gave my life to Jesus five hours after having lunch with a stranger who introduced me to Him. We met at a party and she saw something in me that was crying out for Jesus, even if I didn't know it at the time. During the lunch, we talked, but we can't tell you what we talked about because, an hour and a half later, we noticed the time and couldn't believe that much time had passed while we talked. The Holy Spirit had taken over the entire conversation leaving us with no idea what was said. I left the restaurant wondering what had just happened. Driving home, I listened to Amy Grant's song called "All I Ever Have To Be." (This song speaks about all we have to be in Christ is what He has made us to be in Him. I wasn't a believer at the time, but I've always like Amy Grant's music.) I usually listened to the song twice because I loved it so much. But, this time, I played and sang it the entire 45 minute ride home without really grasping what the song meant for me as someone who was coming closer to God. Hours later, after playing the song over and over in my mind in my apartment, I fell to my face and gave Jesus my life. Three months later, I called the woman (Rita) and told her the story of my salvation. She invited me to her church. Two weeks later, I showed up at the church and was immediately introduced to four teenagers who had heard my testimony from Rita, and had given their lives to Christ because of it. They wanted to meet me for themselves, and when they saw the joy I now had in my life, they grew even more joyous themselves. That was the true beginning for me that Jesus was going to use me to spread His Gospel. I feel privileged every time Jesus uses me to bring another into the Kingdom. For me, in this moment, the stories are endless. Bobby Bruno was saved 15 years ago in a way that left him no doubt that Jesus wanted him to reach others with His great and abounding love. He started writing at the age of 12 and hasn't stopped since. He achieved Associates Degree in Biblical Studies from Ohio Christian University in early 2014.
