Are You Rapture Ready?
by Irma Green

Jesus is coming again, we do not know when all this will happen. The time is unannounced, but the event is sure. We get so absorbed in the affairs of this world that we forget that this future event is in God's plan.

If we would be more aware of the fact that this world will not go on forever we would not be so concerned with what's going on in the world today. We would not be so worried about the economy. It's a shame, but our happiness is based on what we possess. Our unhappiness is based on what we don't have.

I Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we will carry nothing out. Luke 12:15,20,21 - But He said to him, "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possess." 20 - "But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?" 21 - "So is he who lays up treasures for himself, and is not rich toward God."

Life on this earth is temporary and will not go on forever. God made this world and holds it in His hand. But there is a time limit on it. The time is coming when this world will come to an end.

Jesus is coming again!! No one knows when that will be; no one knows the day or the hour. It might be in a hundred years; it might be in a thousand years. Remember this, everything that the Scripture has to say about being ready for the coming of the Lord also applies to your being ready to meet Him in death. The Bible says; "Teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Jesus tells us to "watch", for we do not know the hour. He wants you to be ready. His coming will be unannounced and unexpected. We would do well to keep this in mind. Each day as we go about our daily routine, we would be wise to keep in mind that He may come that day. Each week, as we make plans, we should bear in mind that He may come that week. To live each day as if we are going to be here forever is just plain foolish!! Just because the time is unknown should not make us careless or indifferent. In fact since we do not know the time we should live as if he will return at any time. EVEN TODAY OR TONIGHT!!

The period before His coming will be like the time in the days of Noah. People then were enjoying the normal pursuits of life, with no awareness of imminent judgement. Life continued normally for the people of Noah's day for they were "eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage." But the flood came and took them all away. It was sudden and they were unprepared.

The flood came and took them all away (children included). It was sudden and they were unprepared (worth repeating), only eight people were saved. When Jesus splits the sky, like the flood it will be sudden; what will He find you doing? What will He find you saying? What will He find you thinking? Scripture says "set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth." We should not be worried about the economy, because we are not of this world - we are in the world, but not of the world. This world is not our home, since we do not know the day or the hour Jesus is coming it is foolish to worry about anything. If He came today or called you home as an individual, what would have been the point of worrying?

Child of God, Jesus is coming again; ARE YOU RAPTURE READY?
