Kirk Cameron under fire for Christian beliefs about homosexuality Part 1
by Wendy B McLain Growing Pains Everyone remembers the sitcom "Growing Pains" that aired in 1985 and ran through 1992. Mike Seaver (Kirk Cameron) was the prominent star of this popular hit series. He portrayed a morally correct teenager with a very comical sense of humor who was loved by many throughout the program's airing. Becoming a born-again Christian in his late teens Kirk began staunchly standing for his Christian beliefs using other venues to reach out to the world with the message of Christ's love and the proclamation of the truth of the Gospel. More recently he starred in the "Left Behind" Christian movie series as Cameron 'Buck' Williams and another Christian box office hit "Fireproof" as Caleb Holt that took in $33 million in North America. Now Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort partner in a ministry program known as "The Way of the Master" aimed at reaching the unsaved masses for Jesus Christ. Faith under fire Followers of Christ are told 'But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.' Acts 1:8 (NKJV) Kirk Cameron who was recently interviewed on CNN stated homosexuality is 'destructive detrimental and harmful.' And do you know why he is coming under fire with accusations that call his statement hate speech? Men love darkness Because he's proclaiming the truth to the ends of the earth, 'And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world...' but the world doesn't want to acknowledge the truth, 'men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.' John 3:19 'For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible manand birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.' Romans 1:20-32 Lawlessness will abound... Wendy B McLain shares her love for Jesus. Her undeniable voice of passion for the Savior of the world is seen through the kindred spirit she shares with John the Baptist who cries out among the sea of humanity to make straight the way of the Lord. Be ready for the imminent return of the King of kings and Lord of lords. She states, 'May your lamp be full of oil.' Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
