A Prayer from a heart that wants to be set free
by Faith C Father God, I bring myself to You today and ask for Your holy aid Lord You alone know that is within me and all that tries to devour me You alone know the strongholds that bind me and my weakness to (name them) Father and my Lord, I want to be free of them and live a holy life, but I find it difficult I am snared by so many things and find it hard to remove myself from temptation I find it hard to purify my mind and body I find it hard to walk away from my friends and reject the lures of this world I am weak and so often hate who I have become Lord, I know You have made me to honour You with my life and created me to be holy and pleasing to You You know that I love You Lord You know that I am willing to change You know that I cannot change without Your help You know that I am bound by things of this earth You know that I want to be set free You know that I need a total deliverance of mind, body and spirit You know that I hate my ways and my condition You see it all O God... please see my need for a complete change today Help me O God, my Father, help me O Lord my Saviour Purify me and give me the strength to walk away from all wrong friendships and the snares of the evil one Help me to hate sin with a passion and help me to reject it at all times Give me dreams of hell O God so that it will shake me up, because if I continue on in this way, that will be my destination Give me a fear of offending You O Holy One Give me a heart of honour and repentance O God, I need You today Help me O God, I return to You as a Prodigal Son/Daughter O God, help me to withstand the powers of darkness Help me to reject Satan and his legions and their temptations I confess my sins to You today (name them) and ask You to cleanse me from within and without Fill me with Your Holy Spirit O God for I am so needy of His Presence and His Power I need You O God, please help me (Remember) If you want to be free, but continue with wrong friends, you will continue to stray If you want to avoid drinking or drugs, but go into places where it if freely available, or hang around with people who do such things, if you buy them, you will continue to stray If you have wrong relationships, but continue them, you will continue to stray If you want to have a pure heart or mind, and continue to watch movies, TV or read impure books etc, you will continue to stray If you want to stop smoking, and continue to buy them, you will continue to stray If you want to stop swearing and cursing, and do not practice self control, you will continue to stray God is willing to help you today, but you must also do your part to help yourself Together, you and God can do it!
