Sarah Anne Deborah Dee
by Dennis Bazzell

Sarah Anne Deborah Dee,
that's my name and that's what I want you to call me please.
If you only call me Sara Dee
someone else might answer and it won't be me.

Do I talk a lot? Some say I do
but that's only because I have more to say than you.
Of course I know all the neighbors their all my friends
if you want me to I'll introduce you to all of them.

I can keep a secret no matter what people say
let me tell you a secret my mom told me just today.
I love when daddy tells me nursery rhymes
Accept when he messes them up he drives me out of my mind!!

Being alone? Oh no! I like a crowd
except when they tell me I'm talking to loud.
There is something I really don't like to mention,
I have to talk loud to keep everybody's attention.

When me and my friends play I'm always in charge
even though they say I'm not all that large.
Oh yes, yes I'm always in motion
but it's hard to be still when you keep getting new notions.

Oh my yes! good things always happen to me Daddy says it's something called serendipity.
But I really think its all part of God's plan
Because when it comes to me he is a big fan.

Well come back again sometime just feel free
remember my name is Sarah Anne Deborah Dee.

This poem is dedicated to my daughter Julia Michelle Bazzell. During the time I worked in the bus ministry, I found out in most neighborhoods there's a little girl like Julia, and if you happen to bump into her it will not be long before you know every kid in the neighborhood.

I am the pastor of Johnson Rd General Baptist Church in Granite City IL. This poem is on my website www.alongtheroadtoemmaus.com it has also been printed on Inspiration Peak
