Our Sovereign God
by Fergus Davar

Hello people, how are you doing today? Hope all is going well for you all. Today I would like to write on the Sovereignty of God. I am talking about a God who is truly Almighty, may His Spirit guide me to reveal that to you.

Ironically the God I am going to talk about is Someone who the Atheist and God haters will know more than those who are staunchly religious. Consider this, why does a person come to hate God and refuse to believe in God? Mostly it will be because a particular situation or a series of situations did not go as he desired and deep within that person he knows that God is behind it and so he comes to hate God and refuse to believe in His maker.

Satan has enveloped the world so deeply in deceit that he only shows the world that God is sovereign and in control and responsible for the situation when disaster strikes a person but during the times when people have the top of the world feeling then Satan deceives the person into thinking the person is self accomplished so that the person may take all the credit for himself and not thank God as being the sole reason for his accomplishments.

An Atheist knows God is responsible for the disasters in his life and a religious person will owe the persons destruction to person himself, which is in part true but the Bible says that if a grain of wheat is to bear more wheat then it needs to fall into the ground and die to its identity as a grain of wheat and turn into a plant that produces wheat a hundred fold (John 12:24). This process is God initiated right from the fall to bearing of the fruit. If you ask me why, I'll say I don't know but God knows! The Bible says that the people who God delivers will be so glad and they will not remember their suffering (Romans 8:18) whose main cause was the fall from the time of Adam.

John 12:24
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Romans 8:18
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

God is Sovereign to the extent that it is He who decides who it is who will spend eternity with him. Many Christians claim that God knew ahead of time who will accept the Salvation in faith that will come through his Son and according to what he knew he predestined them to eternal life with Him. But the very concept of free will states that there is an area in which God is not present (John 1:3) and though this may make a person feel comfortable, the only being who would be totally happy with this if it were ever true, would be Satan. What kind of ridiculous idea is this free will concept? If someone would make something for himself, would he express such formality as though it were a guest in his house? Would he not claim ownership over it? Biblically the Church is the bride of Christ, then what kind of Biblical authority does the groom have over the bride when it is bride who is doing the choosing (John 15:6). Is Almighty God a hen pecked husband? For those who say is that God has not made puppets then I'd like to ask you then how much truly is God a part of your life, when people are turning into Atheist because they cannot deal with the idea that shows God responsible for this degenerate world then what is keeping you from giving God the FULL credit for your life that is in Him. For a person who says that option to believe in Christ is a self initiative (1 Corinthian 12:3), then he truly has to relearn the definition of God.

John 1:3 (about Jesus)
3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

John 15:6 (Jesus Word)
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you

Romans 11:32
For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all

1 Corinthian 12:3
no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

Diplomacy is not always the wisest of ways to act, the Biblical chaff and wheat concept (Matthew 3:12) is what it is at face value. God is not counting on us to save people. It is God who makes believers not man. It was God who brought the animals into the arc to Noah. Noah dint have to go bringing in the lion, tigers and elephants, he just needed to do as God commanded. Similarly we just need to act in the order of Matthew 28.

Genesis 7:7-9
7 Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him entered the ark because of the water of the flood. 8 Of clean animals and animals that are not clean and birds and everything that creeps on the ground, 9 there went into the ark to Noah by twos, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;

The Bible say that darkness cannot comprehend the Light of Christ (John 1:5) and for a Christian who claims that he took the initiative to accept Christ then he is actually saying that he was not really in darkness before he accepted Christ and that actually questions what the death of Christ actually accomplished in his life.

John 1:4-5 (About Jesus)
4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it

Biblically, even the sorrow that comes when a person sees the depraved being that he is, that sorrow that brings repentance with Salvation as the outcome, is a 100% credit to God and a 0% credit to man.

Acts 5:31
He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

2Corinthians 7:10
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.

Personally the way I see people who say that their acceptance of Christ was their own initiative; I see them as people who have not fully let go of Salvation by works. Yes the fall did separate man from God but the initiative till the finishing of bridging the gap between man and God, ALL that credit goes to God.

John 3:16
16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

In the above verse we see that whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish but have eternal life and we know from John 6:44 that it is the Father who brings people to His Son so that the person may be saved. So we see that a person's belief in Christ comes from God the Father. From Matthew 25 we clearly see that a place in heaven was prepared for only those who were chosen from every tribe and every nation (the world) right from the time of the foundation of the world.

John 6:44
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

Matthew 25:34
"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Now the argument of strife that people bring against this is Roman 8:29, where people draw the conclusion that those whom God knew before hand would accept Christ, those are the people whom he chose to call his own.

Romans 8:29
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

Biblically though, there is a flaw in this ideology because Roman 8:28 talks about God calling unto Himself people according to His purpose and not as per their choosing. Second, the word "Knew" relates to an intimate relationship between God and man. The same foreknew that God applied to the Church, he also applied to Jeremiah (Jer 1:5) and his predestination was similar to that of the Church and though people may look for some levey for free will to be seen here in this verse they will see just as much free will here as they will see in Romans 8:29. In fact if you look at Matthew 7:23, you will clearly see that the word "knew" used between God and His people refers to more than anything of God's intimate ownership over His chosen people.

Jeremiah 1:5-7
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
And before you were born I consecrated you;
I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."
6 Then I said, "Alas, Lord GOD!
Behold, I do not know how to speak,
Because I am a youth."
7 But the LORD said to me,
"Do not say, 'I am a youth,'
Because everywhere I send you, you shall go,
And all that I command you, you shall speak.

Matthew 7:21-23 (Jesus' Word)
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.22 Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'

For those who quote Revelations 3:20, they need to look more closely at the same scripture, anybody in a house will hear the person who knocks on their door but he who opens the door will be that person who was called by the Spirit to see and here (Acts 2:33). The Bible says that the door that God closes no one can open and the door that God opens no one can close (Isaiah 22:22) and the Bible also says in Isaiah 6:10 that God made people in general unresponsive to His Word. So this should mean that this door that God closed could only be opened by God Himself (Luke 7:20-23 and Revelation 3:7) and so belief in the Lord Jesus Christ can only be made possible by God and this is done only for His people whom he unconditionally chose from every tribe and every nation (Revelations 5:9).

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Acts 2:33
33 Therefore having been exalted [a]to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.

Isaiah 22:22 (Reference to Jesus)
22 "Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder,
When he opens no one will shut,
When he shuts no one will open.

Isaiah 6:10
10 "Render the hearts of this people [a]insensitive,
Their ears [b]dull,
And their eyes [c]dim,
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed."

Luke 7:20-23 (Jesus to the disciples of John the Baptist)
20And when the men had come to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, 'Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?'" 21In that hour he healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight. 22And he answered them, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers[a] are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them. 23And blessed is the one who is not offended by me."

Revelation 3:7 (Jesus speaks to the Angel)
"And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this:

Revelation 5:9
9 And they *sang a new song, saying,
"Worthy are You to take the [a]book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
