Unexpected Surprises
by Marie Grossett

Recently a friend of mine had an unexpected surprise. She told me she was pregnant, the next day I went to see her to congratulate her on the good news. I flung my arms around her and said how happy I was. But her response was not what I expected. Normally women would be pleased when they find out their pregnant but not her. I asked what was wrong this was her answer.

"What about my career all that studying I put into law school. Plus Jake has just finished his plumbing course and is looking for work everything is ruined, were just managing financially. Everything is ruined," she repeated.

I gently said, "You can still have your career that's because you have a child doesn't mean you should stop pursuing your dreams in fact it should make you more determined to pursue your destiny. I still continued to pursue my dreams though I had children and look we're I am now a success in my career, and you can be too." I continued to say, "Where's your faith don't you believe God will provide for you according to his riches in Glory? You'll be amazed how he will." I continued to assure her that she will be alright in fact she will be more than alright. She felt much better when I told her this.

There are many unexpected surprises which come to our lives, but it's how we handle them that make the difference. Are we going to let the positive outweigh the negative? Or are we going to let the negative outweigh the positive?
If we dwell on the negative then we can't see a way out of the situation. We begin to lose faith, hope, and start doubting. But if we dwell on the positive then we can overcome. The unexpected surprise cannot hinder you if you don't allow it too.

So what unexpected surprise have you come across and how are you going to handle them? If I was you I will handle it seeing the positives.

A lady that is part of the church I go too recently had to stop work because the doctors informed her that her son was losing his sight and there was nothing they could do. Do you know what she said? "No matter what the doctor's say I still believing and trusting in my God that my son will regain his sight he is a miracle working God. In the meantime I am going to look after my son the best way I can and trust God to provide."

Her positive attitude really moved me and with faith anything is possible. Whatever unexpected surprise you may be facing think positive concerning the situation, don't lose sight, and hope.

Behind every surprise there is a bigger picture towards your destiny you may not see it but God does. Keep the faith.
